Melb - Two Tribes - Melbourne Park - REVIEWS

My night:

11.00 - roll up to the line-up, planned to be there 1.5 hours ago (Goddamn slow friends - blame Bee)
11.15 - Start complaining about how long the line is to the unknown people surrounding us, we bond by a bitch session about appropriate ways they could make it faster.
11.40 - Start to get worried about missing Prodigy - we're not the only ones!
12.00 - We're IN!
12.00.1second - BOLT to Rod Laver Arena.
12.05 - Enjoy 5 minutes of the set until we decide to go to the toilets.. ;)
12.15 - Return to Rod Laver Arena - it's going nuts!
12.20 - Complain that consumables are shit and not working
12.30 - Yes, we're still complaining
12.31 - Return to toilets... ;)
12.35 - First 2 consumables hit.. oh oh... that mean there's still another 1 to come.
12.40 - Get back into Rod Laver arena fuck eyed...
12.41 - Dance
12.44 - Missions begin - I have a great time, meet up with people who I haven't seen for ages, dance (catch a bit of some sets - depends on the timetable) etc.
3.00 - Wonder where all my time went - it seemed like 5 minutes.
3.15 - Consume another!
3.20 - More missions - same deal as last time.
6.00 - I'm sober - time to go home.
6.30 - Wait for friends to get bored with it.
7.00 - Meet up with other random friends so we can sort out the deal with who's house we're going to have the after-party, chill session!
7.45 - Arrive at the house.
8.15 - Get comfortable - doona's, pillows etc. are torn off beds
8.30 - Tunes come on!
9.00 - Enjoy our K! *giggles* oh the fun!

One of about 1000 actually, lol. There's like a shitload of VIP passes going around, and I suspect that 1 can turn into 20 quite easily too..... ;)
(And it just means I hopefully won't have to wait so long in line to see The Prodigy.) =D

rofl... story of my life!!! Bitching sessions in any line make the time tick away - or bitching about other ppl that try and push in front lol ;)

Well, after much consideration (yeah, like all of 2 minutes), I've decided I'll come along. This will be my first eva BIG event. <freaky> or as KRC calls it a McRave. So hopefully will be able to meet up with people before hand. Didn't realise that monday was a public holiday otherwise I would have jumped in earlier...

Hope to see you all there :)
 
well this sucks only 2 weeks to go and already my best mate has pulled out becasue he has to work and there is no one else to fill his job that leaves us with 3 ppl now and one spare ticket. now im trying to get some other friends togo but everyone is working so far:-(

get there early go to rod laver and wait for prodigy to come on coz u dun wanna be locked out or anything coz u got there too late and they wont let anymore people in coz its full up...just a thought

Have you guys looked at the flyers yet? If you get a chance to get a flyer, check them out. At the bottom of the flyers you will see some fine prints saying something like :

"Due to venue's capacity, entry to certain arena's are not guaranteed. Entries will be first come first served"

Thats pretty sad. Unfortunately it is a f**king big event. Alright, theres already warnings on flyers. Well, I guest all of us will just have to go way early to see the DJs we want to see to avoid dissapointment". Good luck guys

No one honestly expected for them to be able to pack in like 20000 people in Rod Laver Arena for The Prodigy did they? You gotta get there early to get in there to see the good stuff you wanna see. No one should be cryin coz they got there too late and got locked out...
 
Totally agree. A bit of common sense is all that is needed although it seems every year people forget to bring that.
 
^^ Good point. Will need to get there ATLEAST a halfer before if not more...

Got some very very reasonably priced tix for friends yesterday so now our group comin along has doubled! :) Sweet as....

We'll be getting there really freaking early if I have anything to do with it.
I'm not missing out on any acts this event - - - none! I also vow I'm not going to be squashed by the throngs of people. :|
 
Wait for the set times.
I'll probably be there early, stoned off my dial as I await for the shows I want to see to start approaching.
Front and centre, I say - bring on the massive crowds of cokeys!
