TRANSMISSION: MAGIC CITY
FRIDAY 25 MAY @ THE METRO

Feel your soul now- let your soul fly! In the name of all that is good and right, the Transmission soothsayers make their annual pilgrimage to Ole Melbourne Town for their battle deluxe with the Pharmacy poseur rockstar posse. Both plastic and fantastic all at once, Transmission promises a charka cleansing, body rockin, curry feastin, feaux religious experience for clubber of all walks! So- walk right, sit right down- daddy let your mind roll on!

Infiltrate. Destroy. Rebuild.

DONKEY ROLLERS (live)
Rather than developing the usual Dutch obsession with fables, tulips and windmills, Zany, Jowan and MC DV8 were converted very early on to the dark side of life. With a penchant for cow tipping, mugging old ladies and the occasional petty vandalism, the Donkey Rollers are the original Dutch bad bwoys! Their crunching kicks and soaring dark melodies have made tracks like ‘Silver Bullet’, ‘Evil’ and ‘Hardstyle Rockers’ the angst-ridden classics they have become. Prepare for their Tijuana donkey show- live on stage!

SEAN TYAS
Without question Sean Tyas is is one of the hottest producers on the planet right now! Lauded by the likes of Armin Van Buuren, Paul Van Dyk and Sander van Doorn, Tyas is the man of the moment! His sophomore release ‘Lift’ is currently one of the biggest tech trance anthems on the circuit and his fresh remixes of classics such as ‘Lost In Love’, ‘Children’ and AC/DC’s ‘Thunderstruck’ are setting the world on fire!

JOWAN
Jowan is a name that over the years has become synonymous with quality. From atop his ivory throne at the helm of the Freaky Music empire, Jowan has the entire Dutch techtrance/hardstyle movement under his spell. Whether it be his massive anthems such as ‘Faceplant’ and ‘Cab 10’ or his stellar DJ performances at Trance Energy and Dance Valley- Jowan rules the roost in the world of tough yet groovy techno and trance!

BAS & RAM
A new generation of DJs and producers are breathing new life into the hard trance genre- this movement has been largely spearheaded by these two Dutch prodigies Bas & Ram. With a sound that flirts effortlessly from tough uplifting and tech/electro trance through to hard trance, these lads have infiltrated the hearts and minds of clubbers the world over with instant classics such as ‘Chimps & Pimps’, ‘The Bells’ and ‘Alien Threat’.

A*S*Y*S vs. HELLRAISER

DJ ZANY
Enter the Elvis of hardstyle- DJ Zany! No other hardstyle DJ/producer could claim the same level of celebrity that Zany enjoys- he is the brightest star in Holland’s hardstyle universe; selling out his own concerts to even larger crowds than Tiesto! Thanks in no small part to his brilliant releases such as ‘Sky High’, ‘Science & Religion’, ‘Pure’ and ‘Widowmaker’, Dj Zany has also headlines festivals such as Sensation Black and Defqon1.

a lot of talent there.. looking forward to it, will metro be locked down like the palace was?

Metro is such a crap venue. And it's sound system is no where near as good as the main room at the Palace but I shall still join missgoody2shoes for some debauchery there.

Metro is not loud enough IMO. I remember standing just behind the bar for Infected and being able to hear loud crowd chatter even after they started playing.. it did my head in

The last two gigs @ the meetro I have been to the sound has been stock standard. I found with that venue it really depends where you are dancing/situated. When I went to Pendulum @ the metro we werent on the stage. We were to the right of the stage at the front of the bar near the step and the sound there was awesome.

But for Laurent Garnier we were on the dance floor. Sort of to the rear left of it and near the middle and the sound wasnt to great. It was ok, but it sounded jumbled :\

^^ I thought it was the other way round, I didn't think much of the sound at fucking hostile.
Nah way, the bass at the Palace has a lift to it that you can feel shaking through your chest. Everytime I go to the palace I am blown away by the quality of its soundsystem.

Mind you if it was packed out it probably wouldn't have been as good as it usually is.

If you see me n college_dropout round say hi- Ima tall chick brown hair likely black gators black skirt on. Likely dancing like a retard. You may have seen both of us in the piccy thread.

to those goin hope u hav fun!

Well enjoy your gigs @ the metro for as long as you can kiddies. Yesterdays Herald Sun reported that the sale is set to fetch $10mill and it will most likely be knocked down and turned into apartments...

^i don't particularly like metro as a venue......but if it was sold and turned into more yuppy apartments, this would be another huge dent in the melbourne EDM scene.

Let's just run through all the recent clubs who have closed in the last 2 yrs:

-Mercat Dancehall
-Honkytonks
-Public Office
-The Palace (will be closing soon)

And now possibly Metro.....maybe time for me to start winding down me thinks :\

Yeah i know. it is a shame to see such a good venue go. If anyone can find me the article from ydays herald sun (victoria) theres a huge article in the business/commercial property section about it and the plans and how apparenty even after sale theres a cluas in the current lease where the land lord only has to give 6mths notice to the tenant to vacate it.
