PRINCIPLES OF FLIGHT (Timecode Records, France) [DJ SET]

Principles of Flight was created in 2004 by Remy and Pierre. Their desire was to bring something new to the psychedelic scene. After a few month of collaboration, they rapidly got their first live set ready and played for the first time at Rahkti Dei festival in Belgium. At this point they decided to push their collaboration a little bit further and started producing intensively as well as releasing tracks on various compilations. Their unique combination of dancefloor smashing beats and gloomy melodies was soon recognized to be one of the most original of night fullon psychedelic music. In 2006, they started working on their debut album and after almost a year of intensive creation, "Night Time Lullabies" was released in december 2006 on BooM! Records. With this album, POF brought the vision of trance to another level, with the music charting the tale of Gabriel and Gloopy strugling to bring back peace over thir enchanted lands. The goal of the album was to achieve a unique artistic creation involving music, visual universe, and imaginary story, all linked together by a tight script. Since then, POF have been touring all over europe and france and releasing tracks on many compilations. They started diversifying their influences, and their music could now be qualified as psy-techno, a unique blend of night full on and ravaging techno, without doubt more dancefloor-oriented than in the past. Recently releasing their sophomore album on the iconic South African label Timecode Records, POF have gone from strength to strength.

The POF set will be a special retro DJ set performed by Pierre, presenting the Night Time Lullabies style that first got them noticed in the psytrance world.

He released numerous tracks on labels such as TIP World, Bom Shanka Music, Free Radical Records, Peak Records, Doof Records and heaps more. Collabarating with artists like Parasense, Psymmetrix, Asimilon, Suria, Orca, Rev and Bombax, his group side projects Pirated Machines, Psykodroïds, BSM Crew and Illegal Sensations have been attracting attention for some time. Be there as Fabien brings his 90 minute live set to the Mercat.

Paul Taylor began his DJ'ing career as a DAT DJ in the season of '96 in Goa. Traveling back and forth between Goa and the U.K , he also spent the late nineties running a Trance record shop in London's Portobello. By 1998 Paul had began to play for some of the major party groups (Kundalini, Escape From Samsara, Enlightenment) in London at the time. In 2000 he joined TIPWorld records as a label DJ/Co A&R ,and for the next two years became to be known internationally, as both a TIP DJ, and for his track selection on compilations. In 2002, he left London to live in Ibiza , and spent the next 3 years co-producing music with artists such as Earthling, Soundaholix, CampoSonic (Celli Earthing, Bushman and Paul Taylor). Whilst in Ibiza he also joined GMS' label Spun Records as Label Dj and A&R, and compiled the top selling Spun Compilation:'Tweakers'. Paul has co-produced tracks with some of the leading artists in the scene like Wizzy Noise, Joti Sidhu and Psysex. His DJ compilations include Time and Space 1&2 (Maia Recs. Mexico), Tweakers (Spun), Freedom Fighters (Crystal Matrix Recs). His first album: "HIGH LIFE" received excellent reviews and sold out soon after it's December 2008 release...this album defined a whole new sound in the psytrance scene, which will be further defined in his latest upcoming release: "PURITY" to be released September 2009 on Kundalini Records.

THE CHOJIN (Black Magik Records)

The Chojin is Pierre Meneaud, known for his sets of dark psychotic night tunes spun in with thought provoking samples of political regression. After playing a few small gigs in India, he decided to venture out of the somewhat cheesy and powerful trips into a much darker sound. With influences from Heavy/Death Metal, a chance meeting with Goa Gil in Japan proved helpful with the path of music he wanted to go down. Producing his own night tunes for some time now, Pierre's sets are intense and powerful trips through the world of industrial, driving dark psytrance.
