I'm extremely disgrunted that I won't be able to go to this. I go back to work on 2nd Jan this year, due to having exhausted my holiday allocation for the honeymoon recently.

It sucks because there's absolutely fuck all to do at work until at least mid-Jan.

As is another interstater. I vote the same date as last year, the 3rd seemed to suit most people pretty well.

Whoever can come can come, like the other events we organise.
Sometimes you just can't ensure everyone can make it --- and if we did organise it 12 months in advance and make people sign in blood I'm sure there would still be pikers.

the majority, I admit, but not all ! you parochial bastard .... *do* live within reasonable distance to the city centre. The rest of us have a fair bit of travel and hefty taxi bills at the end of the night ($50 home!). not to mention it's almost impossible on a work night.

But please don't let me bring down the mood... I actually reckon you should probably just set a date and to hell with everyone else. Seems like the 3rd or 4th is popular, so I hope y'all have a blast
