Melatonin potentiating psychedelics?

ive taken melatonin on acid before. i have also heard the rumor that it enhances the trip. but i didnt notice any difference. i have no idea what mg i took still to this day.

but that melatonin grapefruit cannabis combo sounds pretty interesting. and i have all three....so why not ;)
 
What I was taught is that preloading for a few nights on very, very high doses of Melatonin can potentiate a phenethylamine psychedelic experience. I first learned about this last year from a 2CE user's post on a forum. He swore that his 2CE trips were stronger and had a longer duration if he preloaded on 12-24 mg of Melatonin each night starting at least a few nights in advance of his trip.

Then I found another reference to using Melatonin to potentiate psychedelics in an article describing various ways to potentiate Mescaline. This is an excerpt from the article-

"Melatonin - I have heard a report that Melatonin ( available in most Health food stores ) will potentiate the effects of ingesting mescaline. The preferred and most effective method is to take 10-15mg before bed, a week in succession before the trip. If this is not practical, 20-25mg may be taken at least 12 hours before the actual trip. The later method works but is not as efficient as the week long method. It is said that the "7 day boost" used in conjunction with beta-carbolines (below) results in an ultra-euphoric boost."

I was very skeptical of these claims that repeated nightly high doses of Melatonin could potentiate psychedelics until I tried for myself with 2CE. On a few occasions I tried taking 6-24 mg of Melatonin each night for as many nights in advance as I could and then the next day would eat or insufflate 2CE. My resulting trips seemed longer, more visual and euphoric. The first time I preloaded on Melatonin and snorted 2CE I assumed it was a coincidence that the trip seemed longer and more visual. However, after trying this combination over and over I concluded it did in fact seem to work.

I've subsequently tried preloading on Melatonin before blotter experiences and before HBW experiences. What I usually do is starting 4 or 5 nights (though sometimes up to a week in advance) before a trip I take like 6-9 mg of Melatonin. I slowly increase my dosage each night to where the night before my trip I usually am on 21-24 mg of Melatonin.
 
Melatonin is such a strange chemical. I find that if I take 3mg and stay awake for a few hours after that, I get a little bit sleepy, but I daydream a lot. I can be talking to someone or watching TV and realize that I have been imagining a hypothetical situation, like a dream, but it hasn't been affecting my actions. In a way, two separate thought patterns emerge, one where I can function normally, and another in which my imagination runs wild. They exist simultaneously and the dreams don't seem to have beginnings or ends. It's kind of like a drug that induces the mind's eye.

Melatonin is effective as a sleep aid for me because it puts me right into dream mode. Normally I lie down and wait to just pass out, which is impossible if that's all you can think about. It's much easier to first go into wandering dreams and then deep sleep than from full consciousness to deep sleep.

When I'm conscious on melatonin, I find the daydreams are not able to affect my emotions. I can be imagining a nightmare, but I won't feel my heartbeat
increase until I start to recall it.

I imagine melatonin would be quite intense when combined with a psychedelic. The hypothetical images and situations you experience could be brought to life. The sleepy effects would be nonexistant but the dreamy effects would probably remain. I'll try it next time I trip, possibly towards the end.
 
Just make sure not to take the Melatonin at the same time as your psychedelic. Just preload on a mega dose the night before like I do (preferably for a few nights). If you take Melatonin at night then don't trip till the next afternoon or evening the sleepy hangover effects of it should be out of your system enough to not interfere with the trip.

I'll be curious whether you guys notice your trips are more visual and longer in duration if you've preloaded on Melatonin for a few nights. I'm well aware that I may be experiencing placebo and it may not be enhancing my trips at all. Oh well, I've got nothing to lose as the Melatonin preloading can't hurt me.

The Melatonin preloading worked best for me with 2CE trips moreso than Ergolines. It made sniffing 2CE have a significantly longer duration (reminiscent of an oral dose).
 
The other day i tripped for the first time in about a month on 2 hits of acid. I had 2 sheets of the acid and these were my last 4 hits so i know it was good, but if anything the weakest (oldest) of the sheet.

I wanted to take a vitamin c, so i grabbed what i thought was the bottle and took one, but it was a melatonin. I realized this 5 minutes later, and went back and grabbed a vitamin c. I remember thinking melatonin was a triptamine, so maybe it would do something, but i wasnt expecting anything at all to be honest

I was doing nitrous after the first hour for about 2 hours (10 nangs total) but the trips were waaaaaay more intense than even when i took three and a half hits. I turned into one of the 3 gears of the univers at one point, turned into a giggling fan with 2 blades at another. It was weird. After those 10 i decided if there was more than 10 left id take a monkey. and there was.

So i took a monkey and it kicked my ass way harder than it has before (havent rolled for a month and a half). And when i did the nitrous after this things got way more intense. At one pt i was a single cell supercomputer battling my friend telepathically and in 1 second we agreed on a competition type thing and build incredible trigger/targeting systems and had our fingers on the trigger. It was really intense and weird.

So i think melatonin definitely does something, because ive taken more acid and the same amount if not more of mdma AND more than double the nitrous in one night and not tripped as hard.
