I hope this is the right forum for this post. Anyways, I bought a double bubbler yesterday, and was too anxious to closely examine the bowl before I bought it. It seemed like a really good deal, which turned out to be because the glass blower is an idiot and poorly constructed the bowl. I have two pictures below. Basically, the pipe is flat at the bottom, so you can stand it, but at an angle. So if it gets the lightest bump on the side while its just sitting on the table, or if the table barely bumps, it falls over. I'm looking for recommendations on making the most of this, in order to stabilize the pipe, and make it less prone to accident.
These pictures were taken straight-on too, so the angle you see the pipe at in the picture is the actual angle that the pipe is tilted at when sitting flat

If im smoking with others or smoking to get really high up ill smoke a blunt or joint, but if im by myself ill smoke a bowl and i think its best for getting high if you can afford the luxury of smoking a bowl but sometimes joints and blunts are less suspicious

I was smoking joints for along time, but recently just started using a pipe. It's nice becase it's portable and I dont need to fill it with water. However somtimes I miss the taste of the bud from a bubbler.

Pipes and Bongs - Size Question
My friend wants to purchase one or the other, and we're having a little argument. He thinks a smaller opening will be higher pressure and you'll take in more of the bowl (with less escaping), and I think a bigger opening will be better and less will escape. I personally think with a smaller hole, as you're inhaling, more excess smoke will escape from the bowl itself.
Thoughts? Does anybody know for sure which waste less weed to put it in layman's terms?

When I say opening, I'm talking about where you place your mouth. He prefers the type where you wrap your lips around it, and I prefer the bong-type openings where you put your lips inside it.

Seems more like a preference argument more than anything else, I can't see either really making much of a difference if your getting smoke in your lungs.

Spotting Vs. Bongs?
Hey guys I am 15 from New Zealand I've only done weed twice, the first time was in a joint at my mates place (I smoked most of it and didn't feel much) and the second time was more recently when I had a mate over at my dads place.
We found some old weed my dad had left in a joint so we made a hooter, heated up my dads old spotting knives, and spotted.
I didn't even get that much out of it but it was enough to have me laughing like hell, walking like I was drunk, and eating like a motherfucker.
Now I haven't tried a bong, but I have one and I'm wondering what would be more effective, Spotting or the bong? Sure I'm going to try both but really I'm just asking your guys opinions.

Im guessing "spotting" is heating up knifes and putting weed on there? This is supposed to be really inefficient, bongs are the best
Spotting is basically when you heat up two knives and compress the weed in between them and inhale the resulting smoke. I hear it's not that common overseas, New Zealand has the highest rate of spotting usage (Source: Wikipedia)

Nah, hot knives will get you stoned as hell :D It's a good way to smoke. I'd say it's probably about as efficient as a bong, but luckily, you don't have to choose. btw, I included hot knives as an option for the poll in this thread and not one person has voted for it, you could be the first!
