I doubt there's any difference, but I could be wrong. I can only vouch for the safety of stainless steel, but I've never had any problems with brass screens and I doubt they would be sold if they were a significant health risk. I bet a quick Google search could answer that question.
 
you could even put a glass screen in a metal or wood piece.......... never buy another filter again......

although glass on glass is always superior....
 
I use a glass pipe with no screen....it's easy enough to regulate the amount of pull I put on the pipe so that I don't eat ashes....
 
^ ya when i dont use a glass filter on glass, i use what i call a "chronic filter".....and thats a small nug in the bottom.
 
Dude...Just roll a joint, why mix the unnecessary chemicals on the paper with your herb?
 
I've done this before, except I only put a small bit of bud so that I'd smoke through the bud and leave myself with tobacco. Works best with a menthol cigarette because the menthol is a good indicator as to when the cannabis is all burnt and you're smoking tobacco.

You could just tear the filter off and make your own crutch. The best idea is to have just rolled a normal joint, though.
 
If you're worried about the filter making it weaker, make a decent sized hole in the filter and line it with a cardboard roach. I've never tried this so I don't know how easy it is, but I imagine it's possible. If you want it to appear normal in a pack, pack a tiny bit of tobacco in the end.


...or you could just roll a joint.
 
I did this a few times back in the day. I used to poke a whole through the filter so most of the smoke didn't go through the filter. It would just be easier to roll a joint though.
 
this is not a good idea, i wouldnt do it. i dont give a shit about the 'chemicals' some people claim to be in the cigarette paper, its just a shitty method. only do this if you have an abundance of weed, cuz its kind of a waste.
 
when i first bought my bong, i had to use a screen because the hole was way too fucking big all that weed fell through so i went o the gads station and i would buy those shits like whats up the dude i know works there and he hooks it upppp but then i went to the smoke shop an dbought a new bowl that was crazy fun

In all honesty, depending on tolerance and quality, its not always a waste.

yea i guess youre right, its not necessarily always a waste. but i think it depends on how WELL you execute the cigajoint moreso than tolerance and quality. i would try it, but it wouldnt be my thing.

They're best used as "road joints". It's pretty obvious to any passing law enforcement when you're smoking a joint or blunt while driving, but if they see you smoking something that looks exactly like a cigarette, who cares?

Whenever I go on road trips, I always buy a pack of cigarettes and stuff them full of weed. I was even pulled over one time on such a trip, the cop remarked that my car smelled of weed, and asked if he could search it. I said "Go for it". He even looked into the pack of "cigarettes" but he was none the wiser :)

After I got back in my car, I lit a joint, waved at the cop, then pulled away. Good times =D

looks just like a cigarette unless someone is like 5 feet away fronm you at which point they would smell the bud anyways....
