I was thinking about water filtration with water pipes

does is matter cold or hot water for filtration? and what is more important the amount of water or the amount of water surface the smoke contacts

I don't know enough for sure and am not gonna start thinking/googling physics in the morning to figure out why the amount of water is more important than the area of surface the smoke comes into contact with, but I'm gonna say the amount of water is much more important.

As for hot/cold water, I'd say that's personal preference. I find cool smoke from ice cold water to be the smoothest under normal conditions, but if my throat is already a little sore, hot water can sometimes make it seem less harsh than cold.

A fun thing I always do when I'm drinking whisk(e)y or wine is to take a bong hit, take a sip of whisky/wine with the smoke still in your lungs, and then exhale. The taste of the weed mixes with the whiskey/wine in a funky manner on the way out. %)
 
Have used joints, bowls, bongs, and vapes and vapes are definitely my preference. So easy and such a clean high.

Water pipes (bongs) would be my second choice. But with a vape, I don't really have a need for the bong unless I want that smoky feeling lol and the effects can differ slightly because of what is being burned at higher temps and all (also the baddies at those temps).
 
How is bowl second? I mean I get using them a lot, hell it's what I smoke out of most of the time, but it just seems like they don't really excel at anything, even convenience if you compare to a vape.

For me its the bong. Second is a joint(without tobacco, but in weekends its usually with). This is when it comes to bud. When I smoke hash I prefer a joint with tobacco.
 
When I first started it was home-made bongs. Then moved on to bongs and bowls and then my friend got a volcano, used that pretty often. Now I have a vapor genie and use that when I am at home. When I go out I usually roll joints. I have a bowl that I pretty much only use for smoking hash out of. Its also the piece that I lend to people. Finally, when I am smoking in public I use my one hitter. My friends use a bong but I dislike them since I find it very difficult to not inhale too much smoke and I end up coughing. But that's probably just because I am weak haha.
 
I've only been smoking spliffs, but I ordered a One Hitter yesterday and it will probably come tomorrow. I hope I'll like that one.
 
I mainly use my Volcano vaporiser for strong misty hits, and for the sake of my lungs, but every few days I'll have a nice fat blunt and that is the best. I prefer my Volcano to bongs, which I only use for hash.
 
I <3 taking dabs of wax/bho... it tastes so fucking delicious and gets you supremely faded. A lot of the wax I buy is lab tested and its THC content is usually in the 70% to 80% range. I use an oil rig similar to k1ndz0n3's bubbler which includes a titanium nail and glass dome. Wax ended up being cheaper for me in the long run and now it's pretty much a waste to buy weed. The only down side to dabbing is that your flower tolerance will go through the roof. I strictly dabbed for a month and now weed just doesn't get me high. It doesn't bother me because I can still get psychedelically high after taking a couple dabs. Wax is the future of smoking and I'm sure it is about to spread throughout the United States at any second.
 
I don't know if wax will take over traditional buds for quite some time. Weed, and the various ways weed is smoked, are a pretty big part of pop culture in the United States. Not that I don't agree with you, bho is awesome, but a majority of people:

1. Don't know about it.
2. Don't have the right equipment to properly smoke it.
3. Don't need to be using a substance that gets them so incredibly high.

I just don't see it catching on with the recreational/occasional smokers. It will probably continue to be used as it is today: by enthusiasts and heavy, everyday smokers.

I love bho, and it does get me supremely stoned, but it's not as available as regular, high-quality buds. Another reason I don't quite see it becoming more widespread is because it takes a large quantity of bud to make a small quantity of wax. That means it isn't very practical for people who are currently selling weed, to get into selling bho (excluding large dispenseries).
 
Throwing between a joint, spliff, pipe or bong. Each has their distinct advantages like a joint just feels pure and clean with a very mellow high; a spliff has the tobacco buzz that adds some flavour to ease the quick burn of the buds; the pipe just gives me a pure straight up full flavour hit; and the bong just smashes me every single time and sends me to another planet.

So difficult and depends on the situation that I'm in.
 
IMO the polls definition of a blunt isn't entirely accurate. A blunt isn't just a joint with tobacco paper. It's a fucking weed cigar. 2 gram minimum. I fucking LOL when someone says they rolled a .5 or gram blunt; that's just a fucking joint, even if it's dank. I roll fatties bigger than that.

Swishers all the way. Great for parties, kickback with the homies and hotboxing.
