Opioids Mega Merged: Ultimate poppy pod/seed tea thread - Part II

I think it might have been the result of constipation plus all the laxatives, that can be rough. I'd rather only use it if I have to and not take my chances. I won't be buying anymore and perhaps thats a good thing anyway so I can't get hooked on it.

If you took stimulant based laxatives that would really make your stomach hurt. I took ex lax once to try and induce a bowel movement while heavily constipated and it was a very painful way to get things moving. I Had lots of intestine cramping from it.

I don't really get too insane of GI problems, just mild constipation if I dose several days in a row.

Since you mentioned the laxatives the sword comment makes more sense now. When constipated and had to use laxatives, I've always described the feeling as daggers being lodged in my gut. Yeah, the cramps can be painful. Must be the laxatives.

Screaming Skull....if you end up with a lot of powder just measure out 1/2 cup and go from there. Take it slow my friend.

I really didn't know what else to do other than to use stimulant laxatives. I pretty much had to take 2 any time I drank the stuff and it really wasn't enough. Sorry if this is too much information but I felt like it made it less solid but still didn't produce any movement...

My new order of pods will arrive here in about 10 hours. I am just now hearing about this calcium carbonate idea. What is the science behind this and does it actually work? Where can i get this stuff?

You might as well use a teaspoon of baking soda (Sodium bicarbonate) to basify your tea, if you like, or drink it mixed with a glass of water before the tea. As far as I've understood, more basic stomach will increase absorbtion of Opiate alkaloids slightly. It shouldn't make big difference though.

so i took a cup of powder and made tea and drank it all yesterday, which is 2 times the amount i normally use. i didn't get high at all though. i fealt alright and at one point got really agitated, which i do when im high on painkillers sometimes, but i didn't nod out once, which is weird. maybe its time to take a break :(

Yeah PPT makes me irritated VERY easy, which makes me bitchy... Look at the thread Opiate Anger...

eating the straw!

New to Bluelight here.....been drinking poppy pod tea for a month now, but have been reading about eating straw in yogurt or whatever and may need less to feel effect. Tolerance for me right now is 4-5 large pods. I steep in warm water with lemon juice, also add in calcium and Vitamin B complex (contains niacinamide) which I here potentiates.
So.....would like to hear some views on eating ground pods mixed with whatever and what your experiences are.
By the way, I find AZ pods work fine for me, what are you ideas on stronger pods??? Thanks

replying to my own topic...???:! mixed powder with instant pudding...pistachio...one of my favorites. Good coverup for the nasty taste. Hard to get down but did it....used 5 pods. Will see

Definitely stronger effect than steeping the tea. So much easier and less time consuming than tea. But, thick consistency and bitter taste ...kind of had to force down. Maybe try yogurt or applesauce next time..I've heard Vit D makes effects last longer....true? Any feedback on different recipes would be appreciates... feeling good.=D

To save time, I just grind the pods and add them to a thick, strong flavored fruit juice like strawberry banana for example or chocolate milk. I take 3-4 extra large pods and add them to only 6-8 oz of chocolate milk (often use soy milk) or fruit juice.

When you eat/drink the straw straight it is much less bitter than steeping strong tea however the consistency of drinking a beverage laced with sand can induce the gag reflex. If I use thick chocolate milk I can hardly notice the pods and 6oz is very easy to get down... of course that will be a larger quantity with more pods, but I use them for pain so I don't require as many.

I started drinking the straw straight when I didn't have time to go through the whole steeping/straining process and I greatly prefer it. I reduced my dose by about 25-30% by not steeping.

I also eat pods because of pain (and I must admit...a little enjoyment!!). Scoliosis in lower back and joint pain from LYME's diagnosed last fall. Due to long ago history of drug addiction, my doctor will not prescribe me pain meds. Am seeing a neurologist next week and wondering if I should tell him about the pods. Maybe he will be willing to treat pain better.

Anyway, do you think less pods are needed when you grind and eat the straw than with steeping and drinking tea? It seems the feeling is somewhat different. Wondering if the dairy in pudding or yogurt slows absorbtion. Used chocolate pudding this morning and really masked the taste. What kind of pods do you get? Some better than others?

Yes, some pods are better than others. That's pretty much the only problem I encounter with PPT. Striving for consistency is indeed difficult.

Cane...I actually experience a better high with the tea rather than the raw powder. You're probably right though. Perhaps the high only feels better because of the tea's quicker onset?

Cane- ...do you think the effects are better from PPT or pod powder mixed with GFJ and OJ, or perhaps pudding or yogurt?
Poppyflower

I prefer the powder largely because of how much time it saves. Its a trade off, tea tastes sooo bitter and you have to drink more liquid if you cut it with some juice or lemonade (my preference.... An arnold poppy) but the powder is like drinking sand. You don't extract everything when you make tea (I found my rewashing to be about 1/3 as strong as the first wash) so I feel using the powder is roughly 30% stronger.

The powder irritates my sensitive stomach more than tea, but drinking a shitload of tea was uncomfortable to chug down all that liquid at once.

The powder also relieves my pain a little longer and the also holds me for notilceably longer. The powder does take a little longer to reach peak effect... It seems to vary a lot for me. Tea for me was usually 45-60min and the powder is 60-120 min but usually ~75. I'd start to feel it in 20-30 similar to tea... It is just more gradual coming up and fading out.

That was probably way more than you wanted to know, but hopefully it was helpful!

to add a bit about the whole Poppy Pod experience.....I was surprised and delighted to find out about the positive use of Poppy Pods. Being an RN, I was very wrapped up in the use of pharmaceuticals for all or any ailments, and hence a heavy supporter of the drug companies and the AMA. I have since included in my quest for pain relief more alternative therapies such as chiropractic and massage. Not to say the pods are alternative herbs or anything, they are the very source of the medications I was taking before. They are just as serious when it comes to addiction and pain relief. But for me, it feels I have more control in my own healing and am not playing too much of the part of pharmaceutical guinea pig. In this forum I hope to find the best ways to put the poppy pods to good use through others ideas and methods of making the tea or other concoctions. So, anyone else out there who can share ways to increase the effectiveness of my new found empowerment (the pods of course), please I would appreciate the guidance. Thank you much!!!

Does anyone ever get really sick sometimes from poppies? I've been using for about a year now and every once in a while (maybe somewhere in the 1/10 - 1/15 range) I will have a really terrible experience from pods (and I've used many different sources too). This sickness always seems to be somewhat similar.

It usually starts with a powerful thunderclap of a headache, followed by the vomiting of anything in my stomach. This happened to me on Friday night, I dosed the tea and went out and drank a few beers (nowhere near enought to get me sick) and left early because I felt a bit ill (and had that headache). I threw up when I got home, and lay down the rest of the night. Felt fine when lying down.

I found the next day upon standing up that my headache had returned. Went downstairs and threw up once again, then went to work. Drank a little bit of juice and threw that all up a few hours later. The headache started to fade away at this point.

Like I've said, I had this happen a few times before, but not an alarming amount. I wonder if perhaps it was mold contamination (because some of the pods I opened were moldy and when I cracked them open perhaps some of the mold got on the walls of some of my good pods...

Whatever the case I'm going to wipe down the outside of any pods I use and also clean out my grinder before I attempt to use them again.
