[MEGA]Idiosyncratic/Unusual Responses to Cannabis

This has progressively been getting worse. It was originally only occuring when i woke up in the mornings. my stomach will feel hollow/empty and gurgle and feel like i'm very hungry and if i don't eat soon i'll starve. but then i don't have any appetite or desire to eat at all. Thinking of food right now doesn't sound appetizing in the least bit. Even my favourite kinds of food. Yet i sit here with an empty, growling stomach that feels completely empty.

Now i notice this has been happening longer throughout the day. I couldn't eat until 7:30pm last night (woke up at 1pm) Today i woke up at 9:30am and it's now almost 3pm and i still have no desire to eat. It's almost like a sick feeling but the nausea is very subtle and un noticeable. but i can NEVER eat. I've lost 5 pounds and i have a ridiculously fast metabolism and i haven't been over 132 pounds. There has been periods of time in the past where i have had a very increased appetite and ate at almost every meal of the day but i still never go past the 130 mark. Now i am 126 pounds and it keeps getting lower.

How do i get my appetite back? what's wrong with my stomach? I already got really baked today and now i'm burnt out and i still dont have any desire to eat.

help?

also - i have tried forcing myself to eat. but i give up really easily. It's like my brain just cant put 2 and 2 together and chew + swallow. I'll just sit there chewing my food forever and it gets dry and really hard to swallow down. plus it never tastes as good anymore

I know exactly how you feel, it takes me 3/4 of a day before i get ungry, i eat n drink (force my self to eat) very small portions all day long until i get hungry at nite, go figure?.
I di loose 32 lb so far, but i was overweight 50 , so i got another 18 to go.
Smoking weed it does speed up your metabolism considerably, i wonder if it is the kind of weed you smoke, i smoke sativas strains, which is bit speedier.
Hope you get hungry.

So this article is saying it's possible for some people to be allergic to cannabis, this is hardly surprising. I mean bloody hell with how diverse we are individual physical make up and what not, it's pretty obvious that allergies to mostly anything is possible.

this information really isnt good for anybody..

How is discovering that people could possibly be allergic to one of the most widely used illegal drugs not good info for anybody?

I Don't get your beef dude, maybe cause it's not all 'OMGWEEDISTOTALLYSAFELOL' ?

Hot/Flushed Face

I searched to see if this has been asked and I couldn't find a result, so perhaps someone can relate/help.

I have been smoking for almost two years and about a few months ago I noticed that when my high is over my face gets extremely hot and my eyes and head hurt. The odd part is is that when I feel my face with my hands, my face does not feel hot. It's like an internal thing. And, the rest of my body does not feel hot like my face at all. My body feels fine, it's just my face!

Has anyone had this? Why is this happening?
It's driving me nuts.

I get something similar. My face becomes extremely sensitive to air temperature. When it's mild/cold, it feels like my head is going to turn into an ice cube, and when it's warm it feels like it's going to burst into flames, even though it feels normal to the touch. I've always considered it normal.

It happen's to me, and I've been smoking weed for near enough 7 years.

It seems to be when I take the first blow of the joint, my entire body temperature rises even if I'm standing outside and it's freezing, I always thought it was normal. But after a couple of jay's, it seems all the heat just stays on my face.

Not a good experience for some people, but considering I live with parents and have to go outside for a smoke where it's constantly cold, I benefit from it.

try not smoking for more than a day or two. Yeah it sucks but I have the same problem as you, pretty much can't eat if I haven't had a smoke sometimes.

I would believe the jwh is likely to be causing these withdrawls. For me personally I had serious withdrawls from smoking that crap all the way to extreme headaches and vomiting. With real weed the worst 'withdrawls' I'll get is trouble sleeping and yes, deminished appetite. Stay away from the fake stuff, its nothing but trash and who knows what how its really affecting our body and minds.

Sounds more like rebound than true withdrawal imo. Any drug will produce rebound; if you take lots of antacids, when you stop you will suffer from heartburn. If you use decongestants everyday, you will be bunged up on cessation. Cannabinoids are antiemetics and appetite stimulants, so it's only natural that suddenly ceasing use will produce emesis (vomiting) and anorexia. I'm sure it'll clear up in a few days. I'm going to merge this with the "idiosyncratic responses" megathread, but PM me if you feel it belongs somewhere else.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rebound_effect
Tendency for effects that are the opposite of those caused by a drug when use of that drug is ceased. So, stop blazing, and you don't feel hungry, you feel bored, nauseous, can't sleep etc.

Whether it's the high potency or the full agonism, synthetic cannabinoids do seem to be capable of producing more severe habituation and withdrawal than cannabis.

Really have no idea tbh, so many variables (which drugs? what dose? how often? over how long?), and even if I knew all that I'd still be guessing. All I can say is that they should get less severe with time, and that tapering down rather than going cold turkey might ease the pain. Try drinking fizzy pop to get some nutrition.

smoking weed dosent really do much to me anymore besides calm my nerves and give me a slight euphoria. sometimes when its good weed, and /or if my tolerance is low ill get decently high for like a half hour to an hour. ex is something that anyone can have a good time on, although some people act really stupid on it. combining x with other drugs gurantees you be feeling good just stay away from uppers. psychedllics any1 can have a panic attack so be prepared for intense experiences.

Can't walk when I smoke?

I've been smoking for about three years now. I use to smoke a lot but not so much recently, but i've always had the same problem. Once I smoke I can't really stand or walk otherwise I'll pass out. I can't smoke while standing otherwise I have to sit down or lay down. Mentally, i'm great with smoking, but physically my body doesn't do so well. I have passed out before because of smoking. I really want to know what could be the reasoning for this and how I can help stop this. because i would like to be able to walk around or at least stand while I smoke, it's very inconvenient and embarrassing. Don't say smokings not for me or I should stop, because i'm not going to..I just want some advice on this.

Your problem sounds like the opposite of what a lot of Americans suffer with. It sounds like you have low blood pressure!

Make sure you're eating enough (protein, vitamins, minerals) and getting good sleep. It could be a vitamin deficiency or sickness, or the onset of something more sinister. If it gets to be a problem you may want to see a doctor.

Yes, it sounds like postural hypotension to be specific. I would smoke less or maybe try having a couple of cups of coffee before smoking if it doesn't cause too much anxiety. It's not dangerous (apart from the risk of falling over), however maybe you should just plan your smoking sessions so that you don't have to get up if you can't prevent it from happening?

Most definitely Low blood pressure! I'm a nurse and see this all the time...even occasionally experience this after i smoke from time to time.

If you wanted to check, you could buy yourself a cheap automatic blood pressure machine and try checking your BP when laying down, then checking it about 1 minute after standing up.

You can try drinking plenty of water before and during smoking to help. This will usually increase your blood pressure by a very small amount...maybe just enough so that you won't get light headed.
