^ actually I was just thinking about reusing potting soil today and remembered about a product that's great for 'recharging' the medium, so to speak. It called Biobizz 'pre-mix'. It contains rockdust and organic nutrients in the right levels and as well as helping establish a good micro herd it feeds the plants wonderfully. It's one of the only Biobizz products I would personally recommend and actually use myself.

There are few decent organic base fertilizers around and BB pre-mix is definitely one of them.

So everyone, Im a bit curious, I asked before, but didn't see an answer, the plant I ended up putting outside is starting to bud (14 hours of day light right now)
Its stretching, and small buds are forming, is this going to cause problems when summer comes along and this plant will need to go back to vegging , or what should I do, is there a way I could cover it and just let it get 12-14 hours of light a day without stressing it out or over heating it? Im running low on bud , don't wanna have to go buy it at the stupid clubs as they charge way too much.
Ive got a plant outdoors that is about 3 1/2 feet tall, that's the one that's starting to flower, I also have another plant in my closet (2 1/2 feet) that Im planning on putting outdoors as its far to large to start flowering indoors now.

I have 5 clones that successfully rooted, I plan on growing them about 1ft - 1 1/2ft then flowering, any advice on what I should do for the outdoor plants?

How big are they going to get if they are already 3ft tall and summer hasn't even started...I wish there was a way I could just make it dark outside for the plant so it would just flower instead of getting right into mid flower then going straight back into veg....

Should be fine. It should reveg and then flower when the days get shorter. It's not ideal but it should work mate.

Alternatively you could force flower it to get a harvest sooner. If you can do this it might be a better option, however actually getting out to put it in a blacked out area every day and then remove it so it gets 12/12 light could be a pain in the arse.

Prelude2TragedyII, is this your only source for cultivation advice? Have you tried some other forums such as icmag, thcfarmer or rollitup? I totally understand wanting to get advice from a community you're comfortable with but those other sites can be great resources as well.

For instance I'll often browse the "HELP ME!" sections where people post about problems with their plants just so I can look at them and learn about deficiencies before I have to deal with them myself.

Sorry if this is a silly suggestion but the forums really helped me a lot.

I've started my first harvest ever of my Blue Dream. I'm pretty happy so far. I'll probably be taking plants down through out the week and hopefully everything will be chopped and hung by the end of the weekend. :)

Hey guys, long time no see. Question about voltage.

First off, I know NOTHING of wire size, surge, electricity... so when answering me, please respond as if you're talking to a 3 year old, mentally retarded child :)

Anyway, I'm about to set up my grow room - I rent a cottage, I guess we have standard electricity, there is a surge box outside. My question is, how do I know how much I can plug into 1 outlet? I'm going to run 1 600w Metal Halide and 2 400w High Pressure Sodiums, coupled with the Ballasts, oscillating fans, and a huge Odor Control System. Some kind of big tube with charcoal in it attached to a fan with metal tubes coming out of it. I'm guessing I can't plug all these into the same circuit. Could you please help me not burn down my house, thanks so much.

Cheers!

^(I'm Artificial Emotion) and yes, that should be fine. Most houses would be able to cope with that.

AE says it's fine, he knows more than most here, and it sounds OK to me (not that I'm qualified to pass judgment).

Spano, some older houses (such as mine) have very old wiring, and the breaker switch and/or chord may not hold the power. For example, each switch in my house only holds 10 amps, so there is NO way I would plug all of that into one of my outlets.

If you calculate how many amps you are using versus how many the switch holds (just go read it), you can be assured of your safety if you use under 80% of the power capacity.

Are you sure you have properly located the breaker switch? It should be on a wall somewhere in the house and the details are usually right inside...

So, you're saying I can plug all this equipment into the same circuit? Put a surge protector in 1 outlet and go to town?

The worst that would happen is that you would trip the circuit breaker. I've done it many times and haven't burnt my flat down yet ;)

However, although I know a bit about growing, I'm no electrician.

There should be an RCD built into the house, meaning you won't need to buy one. I doubt you'll need a surge protector afaik.

A fire is more likely to occur when the breaker doesn't trip, because the lines end up taking the heat and catch the walls afire.

So, knowing the amount of amps you're using and the amount that is "suppose" to trip the breaker can prevent a fire.

Our box is located outside. I read the label on the side of it... I saw 120/240 VAC VCA and 125 AMP MAX. Does that mean anything? Tell me what to look for pweeeez

I looked on the box... I couldn't find how many amps it is... What should I do?

The breaker should have a number on it.

That will be how many amps. The breaker shown above is a 40 amp breaker. How did you find which breaker is used for that circuit?

Each of these breakers controls a circuit. Each circuit needs to be treated with the "80% rule" as mentioned by w01fg4ng. \/ \/ \/

Here is a calculator you can use to figure out how many amps you will be pulling.

NICE! That's more than twice the power I have, so that should be enough for you.

Remember that AMP MAX number is spread across the whole house so I still wouldn't go crazy with more than what you are already setting up. Have fun growing!

Ah cool. Thanks so much wolfgang. By the way, I see you are the Cannabis King :P I've created a monster!

I hope you guys don't mind the barrage of questions and pictures you are about to receive. I'm starting this up in a few days. I've read every book and watched every video but want to make sure I do this perfectly. Here is the next question - After harvest, what is the best method to dry. I don't have tons of room. I've read that it should be dry and always dark. Any suggestions?
