[MEGA] Every Year's Community Growing advice, tips, tricks, & experiences

There looking alright there prelude. I gotta say though, I think with that last shot there are banana's on the very top aka male flowers. :\

If they are then cut those things off asap 8o
hi wise 420 , thanx for the advice m8 i did wat you said i fed her 5ltrs yesterday and today she looks great, it was definately underwatering her she looks much better already, also i moved the light a couple of inches so all is going ok, just one question, how long should i keep her on 12/12 im in no rush? , also what sort of time does it take for the buds to form and is there any thing i can do or add to make them bigger sorry if i sound a bit stupid and ask simple questions its just i have never tried this before so dont know how the cycle goes, or if it depends on the plant , so thanx for the advice you were spot on

The problem with those fan heaters is that they're incredibly inneficient, however if that's all you've got then you may as well use it.

I would keep her under 12/12 lighting until the about two thirds of the pistils on the buds have turned amber.

You won't get a gram per watt to start off with, I can tell you that much. Not until you've had more grows under your belt, however eventually you'll get there. Realistically I wouldn't expect more than about half that your first time.

I would extract into the loft and intake from the flat/house in your case.

ah the joys of paradise... no need for these "heat" things... haha... must suck if you are not careful of mold... but then again... NEEM will fix that right up.

a pics of the plant ive had under my florescent shop lamp for the last 2 months from seed to flowering...

im very attentive to my plants... no bugs allowed, weekly neem misting, tops and bottoms... soil in the first few pics is dried out (the bottom area was still moist)... i mixed in a little osmocote (flowering food) from walmart, its just a mother plant not a plant i plan on harvesting... and the last photo was after her sleeping in the washer room (pitch black darkness) i have her on my balcony hitting the 9am sun... just finished having a really bad tropical storm here... anyhow... a few pictures to assist... tips are curling but not burning... gonna wait 3 more days and then give her lots of fresh water while she finally gets to be in the sun again. just about outgrown her home... so new soil will need to be added and a bigger 1.5 gallon pot... and just a pic of her next to a regular house plant... the darker color is because she gets sunlight the house plant does not.... to reduce LCA i just change their water and give them about 2-3 drops of worm tea... im about to try and give my christmas tree 1/2 cup of worm tea!!! might help bring back some smell... ive had mines since nov 26.

id say im about 2 weeks away from finally flipping on the mh for the first time and about 4 weeks from flipping both on to start the flowering cycle... i assume about 18 days veg with mh and then the rest of the time will be dual lighting... for those who want to know why im using 2 bulbs at the same time... its for supplemental lighting... im ONLY growing ONE plant at a time so i need to make sure my gains are done well... all the new reading has growers using ufo/spinning lights so each plant gets both spectrums and better healthier plants which 99% of the time results in higher yields with better product. i feel hydro is already a step down from soil only because you are feeding it chemicals in an unnatural way... however id say 90% of people cant tell you if it was soil or hydro grown... they just wanna get high.

note: the soil is from homedepot (supersoil) it was used in my yard to feed my vegtables and strawberries, once they were pulled i made this soil out of that used soil... i mix in 50/50 perlite/spongerock, about 2 table spoons of worm casting (after shes allowed to get flushed out from my yard water a few times), at the age of about 2 months i'll add a few balls of osmocote as most soil in a 4" pot will only last for 3 months. the tips are showing me i have enough food for now... and i'll continue to follow her everyday and adjust for what she needs... hairs are about 5 days old but the plant got dry a little when couldnt make it home for a few days and had to stay in town. i hope shes not too stressed out and starts growing a dong.

prelude looks good...

as stated above if that is a "bulb" take a tweezers and snip off the end... dont squeeze it if there is pollen you dont want any of it in the air... not even one. take it to a different room and inspect... id suggest if there is pollen... wash you hands, clothes, and rinse off in the shower before returning to you other plants... then remove the bad one... if thats the case... if not... continue looks good.

Okay ^, you can have all the male parts of the plants (All of their bannanas shooting out and what not), and Ill take all of the female parts of my ladies and eat them ;) lol.

Trying to find a high def camera, wanna get some close ups of some of my plants, two of these girls looks like someone just grabbed a handful of sugar and just threw it down on the plants lol

pleasent surprise... about day number 7... and after 5 hours in the morning sun... voila... just a few more and i'll move her to the bubble bucket...

Can you explain what you mean by this. Are you saying people don't need to heat their grow room during the winter when it's cold?

I don't understand what you mean.

When your lights go out and it's cold, like in most grow rooms in the UK, bar actually using a dehumidifier, heating it is probably the best way to lower hu
the relative humidity levels and avoid mold from becoming a problem.

Unless I misunderstood you?

***** sexxing :)

hey people as some of you know i took cuts of my plants about 5 or so days ago.
my biggest and most favourite beautiful herbal creation is the one is really really want to keep... so thats the one im paying most attention too for now... i would take a photo but its just too small and the camera wouldnt do any justice :)

anyways, im about 97percent sure she is a she :) my question today is, yes i know you can tell mainly for the branches/leaves on the stem if it shoots out pistills it is the goods. but mine has about four pistils shot out of the top of the plant (inbetween the leaves/stem atc) the rest of the stem if assume still needs longer in 12/12.
seriously this plant looks amazing. from what i have said can i have verification that it is a girl?? i just need to be reassured, males dont have pistills do they?? i want to put her into a 50l pot today so if someone can verify it for me id be wrapped

thanks bluelight/cannabis/community growing

i dont live in cold areas... hence "paradise"... hawaii is a stagnant 75-85 degrees year round... you can grow outdoors all year... we wear shorts, slippers, tanktops ALL YEAR. sorry it was in reference to where "i" live.

just another thing you guys need to do just to enjoy your hobby/business... one less for us...

the main concern for the area is just bugs... leaf miners, spider mites, aphids... all manageable with neem and vigilance against them.

bluelight (480x640).jpg
here is my number one angelina, growing beautifully, i am 99 percent the sex is female, i took a cut and found many pistills now :) camera wont take close ups otherwise i would have posted. on some branches i can see tiny pistills forming too, def not balls :)

the family all together :)

let me know what ya think, sorry bit of a rush got family stuff on,

I cant tell from those pics, need close up's of the nodes.

If it's definatly 2 white hairs coming out from the node, and not the stipules that form at every node on the plant then sounds like a female :)

please re assure me .jpg

okay so i was training my main gurl today.
yes i have seen the differences between both male and females during the flowering period and i did the cut sexxing thingo which assured me she was a she, they were definately pistills :)

but today when training i noticed a couple of these things poppin up around some of the main branches along the stem/new shoots, im panicing so much that ive fucked up ere, anyone shed some light on what these things are, please dont say pollen sacks.

Mm that middle node looks to have a pod forming, could very well be a male flower.

Dont suppose you can take some close up's orf the nodes and that pod that's forming? It could just be new growth forming.

yeah that pod looking thing is the only thing scaring me, unfortunately thats the clearest picture i can get, even that took me for ever.
im certain when i cut this plant it shot out pistills, no im worrying its a homeaphrodite, seriously never starting with seeds agen this process has been very confusing.

is there any chance the poddish lookin thing could open up to a pistill?? or growth?? cheers a million

What's that pod looking thing doing at the moment mistee? Is it getting bigger/growing more or do you think it's a new growth site? It dosent look to show any female signs unfortunatly :\

un fortunately no its not growing, the plant is growing fuckin amazingly. im still in the veg period so im not overly sure its a male nor female, i got no freakkin idea now. i was looking today and found one developing a sack (which wasnt near the node *confused face*) the sack was on a branch off the stem, so i exterminated that plant :) my big one has nothing male other than these nodes.
