Looks kind of similar to where I grew on the I of Hawaii.....the guy who taught me lived there his whole life and we had a bunch of different spots, I'd go a little further inland away from the salt air, find a location that nobody's liely to stumble on, like a clearing in the forest that's off the beaten path....The more sunlight the better! I always heard direct morning sunlight is the best, but try to put them where there's as much sunlight as possible all day....
If you're growing from seed, you should definitely start them before you take them out... Use small pots with potting soil, wait until they show sex, pluck the males and then transplant them into grow bags or you can put them in the ground...With a lot of "normal" strains, this should take 2 1/2 - three weeks....
In the beginning is when they're most vulnerable, but you could easily transplant them into bigger pots/bags, throw them in your trunk and sneak them out there....
As was said, anumals love them! Of course, there has to be a lot of info elsewhere online about this....
Salt air can stunt them or even kill them
