hmm, I was pinching , or supercropping w/e its called, Id just rolld the stem/branch inbetween my fingers until I felt the insides kind of mush up.
I broke one of the stems, but it ended up healing and was fine, the others , that I did correctly, (well atleast I think I did them right) , they turned into big knots where I pinched the branch., is that what its supposed to do? and should I be doing this a few weeks before flowering, or , just when ever I have enough nodes to do it

Yes, the branches are suppose to create a knot where you pinched. The knot is made so the branch is stronger and holds more weight (bud). It is also made to stop the branch from growing into your light. Just before flower is a great time to train your plant.

Bought some Cocoir, Organic soil, Spegham Peatmoss, Bloodmeal, Worm Castings, I was wondering how much of what I should use for the best results.

Less is more sometimes, and honestly if it were me I would use 60% organic soil, 20% bloodmeal and 20% worm castings.

Id also add some perlite in amoung that mix.

Well, Ive been hearing alot about cocoir, which is why I bought it, kinda wanted to see if it really makes a difference, my last grow was about 40%Soil, 30% perlite30% peatmoss.

So, I was thinking Cocoir, perlite, peatmoss, and some wormcastings or bloodmeal on top, and a little mixed in, I know it's easy to over do it, and I dont want my plants to die , so, was just wondering what a safe medium was, since I had so many problems with soil PH, and moisture(it was always wet, didnt seem to hurt the plant, but, idk, just looking for the best yeild outta female, since this will be my first female, guess Ill just try diff mixes with the spare seeds I got..Skunk X Haze)

You might need some dolomite lime to stabilize ph? Its been so long since I read up on soil mixes that I don't recall for sure but peat moss has a ph of about 4 so the lime is needed.

coco is great top add to a soil mix for increased aeration but if you have a ph meter growing in pure coco is simply the best method I've ever used with hydro like growth speeds and impossible to overwater, many soil growers never look back and only regret not making the switch earlier!

and, here we go ,
Did some work on my growing closet as everyone in the house was gone for a week, germed 2 seeds, one came up,one had problems, started another, but, heres whats going on as of now.

Ill be able to take some pics that are clear once my girl comes over to spend the night next.

Wish me luck on this grow :D
Femmed seeds, Northern Lights. One of my favorites.

Hehe :D thanks :) Im excited for it too. lol.

Just one thing I did notice is, with those solar reflective blankets on the wall, they also seem to reflect heat? The temp in the closet is about 90degrees, I was wanting to put those up just for lighting purposes, as Im going with two/three plants so my light will be a bit more spread out (which will help a little with the heat) , I do have white walls, would it be better just to rip this stuff down, or , should I keep it up?

Good to see 1 up so far :) Remember not to water to often, you can kinda starve sprouts of water early on this causes the roots to go looking for more moist wet soil, resulting in a very strong healthy root system later on %)

If the inside of your cupboard is white id just rip what youve put up down.

Well, its a closet, not a cupboard, I can take a picture of the outside/inside, but its about 7 Feet long, 8 Feet tall, and maybe 3 1/2 , 3ft wide.
So I've got room , I could probably fit 15-20 plants in there if I had the money to afford it all, but, right now Im just kinda stumped on how to cool the closet down, there no ventalation, I've got 2 fans, buying another tomorrow...

Is it the reflective blankets? Before I only had one plant, running on about the same ammount of lights, but I had to make it light proof this time around, as you could always see through the cracks in the closet, looked like someone was in there...lolol...So many no air is excaping through the closet? I've got my timer for the lights set to turn off at the peak of the day (heat wise, turns off at 3 in the afternoon and comes back up at 9 in the evening.)

I remember reading CO2 can help plants up to about 95 degrees, my closet hitting about 92 -93 max. I just dont know if shelling out that much money would be worth it, and making one of the bottles at home with yeast or what ever, doesn't sound or seem efficient, but , I wouldnt know Ive never used it...

Anyways , thanks for the advice, Ill keep track of the temp the next few days, see how the plant goes, if it gets too hot, Ill rip it out...

Does anyone know how much light one of these reflecter sheets would put out over white walls? ...Hmmm time to smoke

White paint can be just as good as mylar, or that blanket sheeting you have there.

I think unless you get some ventilation you might have problems with heat, especially if your thinking about buying HPS.

How long are you going to veg for?

Umm, Ill veg probably for about 2 , 2 1/2 , maybe 3 months, just depends on how this plant goes...how fast it grows, and what not...

yess, it is mylar, so go ahead and take it down? damn. took for ever to put up , and get it to stay up without the fans blowing it and flaping it around, haha what a waste of time, anyways , alright, I guess thats what Ill do
Maybe Ill just leave a small section on the wall, instead of all of the wall.

yeah take down the mylar. that would be the reason for the increase in temp. i see the lower walls of the closet is white, just give it a fresh paint with white paint if anything. it reflects really well without the heat.

during their 6hr sleep, can u leave a door of the closet open for better ventilation? is the closet in a dark bedroom? or does this have to be total stealth?

Stick to ICMAG grower's forums for the latest info and techniques. Bluelight is a great forum for a wide base of topics, but if you want to grow top notch...ICMAG taught me and hundreds of others...

yeah, the walls are entirely white, been reading up, mylar seems to barely increase light by 10% more than white walls, blah, anyways, Ill be taking it down, the walls are already white, do I really need to paint them over?

Second sprout came up, I can't take a clear pic of it, still a bit small, Ill post one up of them both probably tomorrow or friday. I've just been misting the topsoil once or twice a day (a few pumps of water from a spray bottle)
Haven't been using any nutes yet, Ill start a few weeks in or when the plant shows that it needs it...
Now , I've got one of these plants with alot of wormcasting, and the other had a little bit of wormcasting and bonemeal.
Guess well see if bonemeal does much. lol.

Took the mylar down, temps still running at 92-93, I dont get it...I've added more fans, spread out the lights, and the heat is more than it was when I had 1 fan, all of the lights bunched up together, and one plant...with a smaller space...wtf?
I would thinkthat spreading the lights would help it be a little bit cooler as there aren't so many sources of heat in 1 area. but, now that they are spread out(not really that different from the last set up...

Ideas anyone?
Oh yeah, I've got one fan blowing the heat upwards , pushing the air from the lights upwards, and I've got another fan pushing air directly on the bulbs themselves.
Pretty strong fans too, not like the little crappy one I had before that barely pushed any air...I guess it just doesnt make sense to me...More fans , same ammount of bulbs......and its hotter than ever b4

Is your room sitting at 90+ degrees as well? If you have your room air conditioned, why don't you open the door with a box fan blowing inside to cool it off (and then later when you need to flower you can build it in the door itself)?

It seems like the medium is to strong for the babies, you can notice the slight burning on the edges of leaves. Wait till they dry out again and give them each about a cup of water to flush the medium out abit.

If you cant use the air con. in your room, you may have to add some ventilation if you cant keep those temps abit lower.
