Meet the Zodiac Personalities

Some people believe the stars at the time of your birth exert some influence on you.

and often it seems people do relate to the sign assigned them.

It's an ancient belief... in the influence of the cosmos. Cosmos means law ( as in law and order of things )

Or cosmoses.. a system of thought. Not everybody follows or agrees but

it's not a big stretch to contemplate that the cosmos may exert some influence on us.

Ah... I'm not going to get specific about my person information because I don't know if your an identity stealer or an actual zodiac reader. No offence.
 
I just did a full birth chart for myself, as I knew the exact time. After looking into it, it's pretty damn accurate.

First, some basic terms; the birth chart basically maps the key aspects and intersections of the stars when you were born. As such, each planet represents certain values or attributes, and the zodiac signs represent how those attributes are manifested in ones life. The Sun sign is the primary zodiac sign, and it represents the outward sum of your being. To read the birth chart, you will just go through each celestial body, sun, moon, Venus, etc. And for each one you will determine which sign was effecting that body when you were born.

There are 12 signs, each is ruled by a different planet/moon, is considered mutable, fixed or cardinal, and represents a different element.

Here are the general traits of the elements, each element has three signs.

Air signs///// Gemini, libra, aquarius ///// Communicative, intelligent, idealistic

Fire signs ///// Aries, Leo, Saggitarius ///// passionate, impulsive, assertive

Earth signs //// Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn///// pragmatic, reliable, grounded

But yeah, that's at least a solid example of a basic birth chart, for anyone that might be interested in that. I like to go down rabbit holes with it occasionally. There are many other bodies and relationships between signs, bodies, and also houses, these are called aspects, that have a further effect on an individuals personality or destiny.

I have found it to be eerily accurate at times, but take from it what you will.

A book, a video, an app?
My mom talked the other day about this, and I understood exactly nothing. Probably because it's not something I'm into.
But for my mom it might be of interest.

I don't know how this works.
Only heard people talk about, and @deficiT 's description is the most comprehensive I have read so far. Guess you have to have the day and exact time when you were born, and then look up where the moon was and what constellations where there (even if it's daylight and you can't see them, they are still there).

So there are a bunch of different apps and websites you can use... But you also need the place of your birth and exact time as well to get the entire birth chart, as that will let you determine your sun sign, your moon sign, and your ascendant which are basically the primary aspects.

This app here has a pretty solid break down and gives you the most thorough chart for free. If you don't know the exact time, you can leave it out, that just means you won't know your ascendant sign. The ascendant sign represents basically the mask you wear for the world, or your outward personality. It changes every couple hours depending on where you are at. I did not add the ascendant to my post there but mine is Capricorn.
 
The app i just posted is the best for easily seeing what all of your main stuff is what planet represents what, but then this app is better for like a daily breakdown and also the aspects that are involved in your chart. Aspects are like certain relationships between planets and signs in your birth chart. For example, in my birth chart Neptune conjuncts my ascending sign, so that relationship gives the ascendant sign Neptune traits (Neptune represents dreams).
