Hi Bluelight forum,
Im pretty new here I know but I really need some help.
I recently got diagnosed with myofascial and neuropathic pain syndrome which causes me to have severe pain all throughout my back and spontaneous nerve pain elsewhere in limbs. I have a family history of Fibromyalgia, so i'm pretty certain it's going to head that way (or i've been misdiagnosed). I just got prescribed Lyrica, OxyContin, Tramadol and Diazepam to carry the level of pain i'm in. I've had 6 cortico-steroidal injections in my lumbar spine about 4 months ago, which made pain worse rather than better. Am currently in a physiotherapy program once to twice a week and have incorporated Pilates once a week alternately.
The Lyrica does little to nothing other than give me double vision and puts me into a half-hearted high with no pain relief. I grew a very high tolerance to Tramadol very quickly, and I refused to take more than 600mg per day on the basis that i've never overdosed and never want to having been very close numerous times. It now serves no useful purpose to me at all, even when combined.
I have regular and effervescent co-codamol 30/500 which will always be taken 2 at a time. These provide good pain relief, but a very obvious high. My attention span and awareness goes straight out the window after 60-90mg codeine, but have dabbled a bit with this in the past taking 3-500mg a day so am not too fond of the high I get, unfortunately.
The Oxy and Diazepam really get to work though, as expected. Smoking most types of hash and certain strains of skunk has proved for very effective pain relief, however I still need something to fill the gaps in my 4 weeks on, 1 week off routine on any prescription medicine with any sedative effect.
What i'm really asking for is trial and error that's already been carried out by someone else, so I don't have to do the same thing.
Help.
Many thanks in advance,
JKCLR
