tape a hose to your muffler and put the dog in the car.

get a gas mask, get in the car and pet him while the car fills up with cabon monoxide. painless.

No no NO. This is just horrible. I can't believe you actually suggested such a thing in a public forum.

You could put it down yourself.

Please do not suggest this. It might be fine for people who know what they're doing in regards to painless euthanasia of an animal, but for someone who has no idea to do it properly, this is just a recipe for disaster.

MasterSplinter, PLEASE just try calling around a few shelters, SPCA or other charity veterinary organisations and ask for the cheapest euthanasia price. I am SURE you can get a price within your affordability range.
Please, do the right thing man.

If you believe Rene Descartes, animals are incapable of feeling pain anyway.

^Modern neuroscience has proved that to be incorrect. Why bring it up?

I got my dog high last night, blew two hits through his nose lol, he was fine.

I don't see what's wrong with getting dogs high, they usually just chill out and lay down like they normally do.

I don't see nothing wrong with it, I wouldn't want to put my animal down unless I knew it was in pain.

How the fuck do you know he was fine? Animals do not think like humans and it is cruel to give them drugs.

Jesus Christ. Don't get your dog high. That's like forcing someone to smoke weed that doesn't have the ability to object even if they wanted to.

If your dog is in pain from aging then take him to be put down.

Because if it were true, then it wouldn't matter how we killed animals...they wouldn't feel it anyway.

I suppose you still speculate about flat-earth trade routes too??

Do the right thing for your dog OP.

It is extremely unethical and immoral to get your pets high. They have no choice in the matter so you're essentially forcing it upon them.

I don't see how this isn't clear to people. It's drug rape.

Wouldn't force a drug down my friends throat.

Putting your dog down doesn't cost 485 dollars.

Pretty sure this thread is solved, all its doing is causing flames and arguing , much of which is off topic.

It doesnt cost 500$ to have a dog put down.
Smoking weed obviously wont solve any problems for the dog.

If your animal companions enjoy marijuana then you should give it to them. If your dog likes pot then give him some, I'd recomend blowing hits towards his face from 3-4 feet away, and blowing very, very slowly so that he gets a small stream of smoke instead of a giant cloud of pain. There's absolutly nothing wrong with getting animals high if they enjoy it, which many do. In fact, I've never met a dog that didn't enjoy pot, and I've only met a few cats that didn't enjoy it, given the right environment.

That being said, if your dog is suffering a lot then it might be time to have him put down. I had to have the same thing happen to one of my dogs a few months ago, it's painfull but it's important to remember that their feelings are what's important. My dog liked pot, so I got her high a few times during her last few days. The pot seemed to lessen her suffering quite a bit and she very clearly had a good reaction towards it. It really can help. Sorry about your loss, it's always hard losing an animal that you love.

You can't tell when your dog is happy? Seriously? Is it that hard for you to tell when an animal is happy?

When you play with a dog you can tell it's happy. Why? Because dogs don't hide their emotions from people. If you get your dog stoned and it's unhappy then you shouldn't get it stoned again. But if you get it stoned and it's happy, then there's no reason to not continue giving it pot. People always raise the point that animals can't choose for themselves, but that's where people come in to give them the choice- if they are happy with pot then they can have it and if they don't like pot then no more pot for them. Just don't do it constantly, animals don't generally like being stoned all the time (I've seen a few exceptions), but they do like to occaisionally get high some, if not most, of the time.

Why is it cruel to give them drugs, especially if it's a drug they might enjoy (like I said before, I've literally never seen a dog not enjoy pot)? It seems less cruel to give them drugs that enhance their lives then to withold that extra happiness from them. People do much crueler things to animals without people bitching about it to this degree (like kill and eat them, use them for entertainment, yell at them, hit them, keep them off furniture and lock them outside, among other things). So I think your issue here isn't the actual cruelty of the matter, it's the stigma attached to giving pets drugs.

Lastly- vets prescribe many drugs to animals, including prozac and xanax. How do the owners and vets know that the animals don't hate the drugs? They observe their animals. Same principal goes for pot as goes for xanax for dogs.

If your friend couldn't speak or smoke for themselves, but enjoyed pot, would you help them get high?
