Medical Marijuana in the U.S.

It'll be nationwide soon enough. Recently it seems like 1 or 2 new states gets added every year. I guess we just have to wait our turn.
Im also hoping that most states follow the CA and CO path and make it very open and easy to get a card.

I don't, i hope that it is more like the NEW restrictions Colorado is putting into place - you must have legitimate medical films or a well documented mental health problem to get it in the revised regulations that are about to be put into place.

I think this is a way better idea because it doesn't result in tons of people without legitimate medical problems having scripts. I'm all for full legalization, but the way to do it is not through lax medical laws, it is through straight-forward legislation.

I see your point. I gotta say I like the way things are changing. Obviously just plain legalizing it would be ideal but, I can definitely see that happening through the steps that we are taking now. If anything it's getting people to talk about it. We can only dispel the stigma when people get talking and it seems more and more people are open to the idea than ever before.

Uhh it won't be legalized until there aren't so many people profiting from its current illegal status. The legalization failed in California because too many people depend on Marijuana as a way to earn their income. I can guarantee you that growers (both legal and illegal), dispensary owners and workers, and people involved in the sale/transportation/distribution of black-market Marijuana all voted "NO" to legalizing it because legal pot would destroy their current income. There have been estimates that bud would drop to <no prices> an ounce if legalization passed, which would probably put 95% of growers out of business when corporations started farming absurdly huge harvests.

I know this seems rad, but shouldn't it just be about how easy it is to get, it should be about following the law, being available to patitents, but minimizing diversaion and other problems related to the sale and transfer of medication.

^ I disagree. I got mine for general anxiety disorder. Other people for moderate pain. Or insomnia ect. ect.

I hear of some places where you have to be pretty ill (not terminal but close) with cancer or ms or similar sicknesses to qualify for mmj. Which is a damn shame. Its a great tool to treat everything from GAD or mild depression to terminal cancer.

And in order to receive your card here you do have to follow the proper chanels. Seeing qualified doctors. Paying a fee to the state. Presenting the proper documentation to the dispensaries. So by easy I dont mean any Joe Shmoe can do it in a day. It takes time, and a little bit of cash. But follow the proper procedure and your good to go. I'm just glad the general public is finally excepting mmj as a legitimate medicine.

Of course we want people that need their meds to get it. The beautiful thing about his is that those people are getting their meds and everyone is benefiting from the decrim. So far anyways I haven't heard of any people that really need it being deprived and as long as that continues than why wouldn't it be OK for everyone else to take advantage.

Continuing to change things for mj in general will only prove to keep the people that need it medically able to get it.

im just sayin since you want to open one up..theres a whole market up here that is virgin territory

i moved a P a week in my little area and i was just one of a few people..mydude was doin 15+a week..i could only imagine a store in this area, especially if your one of the first

i always said where i live theres too many kids with too much money and not enough to do with it..so we buy drugs

Yea the only problem is they may legalize medical marijuana but it could be a while before they legalize dispensaries in the area. You can bet your ass when its legal in Arkansas ill be the first to open up shop and in my college town everyone smokes.

well one of the new rules they wrote into the law is..that growing marijuana for medicinal purposes will be illegal...so dispensarys will have to be a must

Someone hasta grow it for the dispensary right? Its still a bunch of legal bullshit either way.

yeah but alot of states allow you to grow like 5plants or something like that if you got a card..in illinois you wont be able to

^ All the more reason to be a legitimate dispensary 'cause I'm assuming in IL they are gonna be the only ones allowed to grow. I wish that was the case out here it seems like all the dispensaries have three or four ranches plus some indoor gardens feeding them at all times. I couldn't imagine being one of the first in Chi-town business would be crazy.

thats why im saying to start looking into it now..especially in the south burbs where im from..not only do the kids smoke a ton, everyones parents are like exhippys and shit and smoke too. and the area i live everyones got somemoney..i live in a middle classs area but 5mins south of me is all million dollar homes and kinda old money but then 5mins past that is 600k mc mansions and lots of new money

^Its on then Ive been wanting to come to Chi for a long time. After this season I'm making it a point to come up there. Plus your dope blows the west coast shit out the water and after a season out here its much needed. I just need to do some legal research and see what IL has in its plans for the Medical market. Like out here they are making people buy commerical licenses that cost 200k a piece. Basically they want to only have a few growers growing for all of Oakland and so on. Our dispensary out here was put in five years ago and when it first opened biz was booming now its not even worth the bills to keep the bitch open.

I know for a lot of things Chicago and IL in general is super strict. Even carrying a friggen pocket knife is a hassle. Not that it's totally related but, for the most part it seems that Chicago is especially strict comparably
