Mecke Vs Marquis

Marquis is arguably the better all round reagent as it reacts differently to more substances. However, Mecke is a good complimentary reagent as it can reinforce a Marquis result i.e. for many psychoactive compounds, it produces a different color.

With Mecke it's much easier to spot the difference between MDMA and DXM, especially in poor lighting (i.e. testing at raves). Otherwise, Marquis is superior if only one test will be used. IMO Mecke should really only be relied upon as a second test, to confirm the reaction from the Marquis reagent.

Distinguishing between mdma and meth is the main reason people buy the testing kits in the first place.

Unless of course there is a mixture of both present in a tablet. It is sometimes possible to tell, but mostly, the darker color of the MDMA reaction will dominate and the lighter orange color (marquis) may not be seen. Mandelin is possibly the better reagent to use as the meth reaction is usually very fast, although it's not fool proof either"
From another thread

So what is meckes reaction then to Meth? I was under the impression there was no change. In the US I believe DXM is our highest adultrant in tabletsso I know I want to have a good reagent towards screening out DXM, but not at the risk of losing the ability to screen out speed.

AFAIK, Mecke does not show any color change if there is meth in your pill.

If you want to be able to screen for both, I'd go ahead and get both the Mecke and Marquis. An experienced tester can see the different reaction on Marquis to DXM, but if you're not familiar with Marquis, go ahead and pick up the Mecke, too. :)

Just my .02! Good luck!
