Mecke reagent giving a "false" positive?

I recently bestowed some (uneaten) but Mecke reagent tested pills on my friends, after it tested positive.

I am now getting calls from these friends that 2 pills have been eaten in 1.5 hours, and nothing is happening. Nothing. These are people that roll once a year (if that) and aren't on meds.

My question is, would the Mecke reagent be so reactive it would give a vibrant color so quickly, only to be a pill with a trivial amount of MDxx? So trivial even a sensitive non-drug user wouldn't even feel it?

I've never encountered a pill that was "bunk", but had just a trivial enough of MDxx to fool a reagent, but not affect the user (even after eating 2).

It's puzzling to me why 2 people would experience this.

The mecke is the most sensitive reagent IME. It seems to react to the slightest amount of MDxx. I find the Marquis and Mandelin kits a lot more useful, although the Mecke has other uses the others do not.

Mecke has always worked for me as my initial test to see if something is worth acquiring (contains MDMA), until now I've yet to encounter an instant positive reaction that turned out to be a pill with only tiny, unnoticeable amounts of MDMA.

It's such a shame, as this is usually thought of a good way of determining if a pill contains MDMA in circumstances where you can't hang out some where for too long to get out all your reagents. I guess it's time to move on to a less reactive reagent for initial screening.
