/me thinks talking in the third person is getting overused

Yeah it's taken me a while to reply to this one, and I'm actually not even going to bite into the argument except to say that yeah it is a bit OTT and we should all tone it down a little (myself included)
What I want to know is if talking in actions annoyes you all too. Now I understand that this thread is mainly taking issue with the cliquey personal jokes. What about stuff like:
*Big Huggles*
*Kitty scampers off to fix her paws*
*Kitty does a lil dance*
Now I often use stuff like this in a post and IRL I quite often talk about myself in third person - Kitty did such and such, Kitty isn't happy etc. It's my speech pattern and I write as I would talk.
Just wondering if that annoys anyone as well as this whole issue.

At risk of getting involved again because I've already made my point about 8 times, the stuff you're talking about (*Big Huggles*, *Kitty scampers off to fix her paws*, *Kitty does a lil dance*) is fine, as long as that's not all people post.
But I'm arguing to a brick wall with most people here, so for all I care now, people can do what they want...

Ok.... ppl do talk in third person, and get personal in threads and generally run amuck.... and u have to admit - it can be quite a laugh.......
But im sure it prolly wont happen as much as it hass been lately due to that fact that it has come to this - ppl arguing and getting quite riled up about it.....
If it does happen - grin and bear it......
I honestly cant belive that it has come to this........ arguing amongst fellow BLers...... its actually quite disgusting considering I know that this behaviour isnt in our nature........
Most of us here are grown up and intelligent ppl - I hope ppl can leave these petty arguments here in the forum........ and not take them out with u.......

i was talking to a relatively new BLer yesterady (not gonna name names). they told me that bluelighters were really bitchy. nice and friendly but could be rather backstabbing...

i understand that there is a lot of crap in social. and i'm sure it's not the same as it was for the 'old skool' BLers. i'm sorry. but things change. let's change my friend's opinion, and not be known as bitchy backstabbers - there's enough of them out there in this world.
all the BLers i know are the biggest champs, i luv them to death! all this whining and grumbling isn't gonna make things better. it's either gonna hurt peoples feelings, make people parranoid about their posts (not a good thing concidering some people's habbits in this forum), or just make people piss off all together! we are all ravers here. i have never met a 'mean' raver.

HOLY SHIT! who'd have thought bluelight operated outside the domain of melbourne, third person conversations, *hugglez* and general bullshit?
This line of argument has been around for a while - ie when DD was dying, requests for social to fuck off. Nothing against anybody personally, but i check social maybe once a fortnight and all i see is bullshit from the same group of people, with in-jokes, talking about how sick something was that 5 people were involved in and stupid threads everywhere.
It's only my personal opinion, but if you have nothing to offer bluelight apart from posts in social what are you doing here? This is a drug discussion and harm minimisation board, not an avenue for cracked-out raver gibberish. I think that if all you have to offer this board is 3rd person ramblings and idiotic threads, then its past your time to move on.
I don't know if these sort of threads actually get thru to people, or whether it hardens their resolve for idiocy.
 
Since we mods never delete a thread unless its nothing more than an offensive flame, or someone trying to deal, I'm guessing BFB deleted it...
*shrug*
It think the point has been made, and when the guidelines are re-written this thread will be used for reference, but for now it can be closed...
