I did a very similar thing with mine - carpet patrol ftw :D
Or tried to anyway. I found there was some residue that dried onto the lil foil cooker I made to cook it up in that still gave a (seriously nasty tasting) hit but when trying to make enough for more than one dose at a time it evaporated at a rate of knots. May have been my technique cos I was only doing it for novelty factor but all the mentions of freebased peevee have said it tends to evaporate quicker than you can smoke it. What ratio of bicarb to peevee did you use or did you make it a different way? Tis a pointless thing to attempt but on a peevee binge such things are fun :D
Hehe. Carpet patrol, table patrol, zipbag-patrol, gap-in-the-pocket-knife-patrol, smoking tube patrol, keyboard patrol ... - the list is long. And awful. :D
Technique i used was "Bullrich Salz", which contains Natrium - sorry - Sodiumhydrogencarbonate. I made a saturated solution by using some 5ml of water and excess carb, heated gently, put one drop onto the peevee on the aluminium foil and heated carefully.
This was easy in the aspect that the reaction of making freebase (which needed very little heat) on the foil looked and sounded different than the freebase starting to evaporate when the reaction was done. But that all shouldn't make a difference as freebase is freebase, so "each" freebase should behave the same way.
I believe that it was kind of conserved as the aluminium foil was screwed up to a ball, so maybe there was less chance to evaporate.
By the way: in the last days i became a real professional in de-screwupping aluminium foil balls, hehe.
.edit:
Riklet: when i had my first .5 gram of peevee, i also didn't find it this fiendish. I don't know how often you did it already, but my experience was that peevee is an insanely bad fucktard in those regards. First bag was no problem, but the second was... hmm, as i already said, not even coke i.v. was that uncontrollable for me, while i found freebasing coke pretty lame. So i'm at least glad that i had kept me from i.v.'ing peevee.
I think that fiendish-thing develops in a certain time instead of being present right from the beginning.
