MDMA vs. MDA after effects on the mind

Recently, I been munching down a certain press we have here in the NE like candy. They tested clean and feel like mda to me. The better part of 20 years experience makes it pretty easy to distingiush it from mdma.

Anyway, I've noticed now (and come to think of it, throughout the years) that while mda doesn't give me quite as much of the loved up empathy as mdma, it also doesn't seem to give me quite the degree of depression, anxiety and mood swings that high doses of mdma does either.

I love both, but if i had to choose, I'd take mdma. Buuuut, this is a big plus for mda. Anyone else notice this? Any of the more technical guys on here know if there's any science behind this or is it all in my head?

I am pretty sure the oposite is ture than what you are observing. MDA is slightly more nuerotoxic than MDMA. As to why you would feel better after a night of MDA than MDMA? I could not tell you

I'm not talkin one night here...i'm talkin high dose binges. Last month went through a disgusting amount of pills (course pills pretty weak these days) and just suprised i'm not mentally worse off than i am...not complaining lol, usually much worse after a big binge, but usually binge on mdma not mda. Got things goin on in my life that should make potential depression from overusage worse, but i'm feelin fine. Could be from the 9 or 10 month break I took beforehand.

If mda is more neurotoxic than I'd be curious if the mental after effects of overusage are from neurotoxicity or from severe seratonin depletion...and are these in fact one in the same? Obviously mdma may in fact release more seratonin since its effects are more empathetic...this is just an assumption i'm making. If this is the case, maybe mdma is more likely to cause depression than mda.

^MDA is more toxic than MDMA, but i dont know if it's toxic to the same area's/systems as MDMA.
ime MDA doesnt give me the same mid-week depression as MDMA, and i think it's because MDA releases serotonin from a few different receptors than MDMA. (ex: 5-HT2)

how long has it been since your 'binge'?

^That's exactly what I'm referring to...I've still had suicide tuesday a bit but after that one, maybe two days, i'm fine...it's niccce. But to answer your question, the binge only really ended couple weeks ago. Was rollin like every other weekend for about 8 weeks, but i'd roll for like 48 hours or longer straight no sleep then pass the fuck out. I did keep up with exercise n healthy eating in between but no 5-htp. Now gonna really try to fly straight til nye, blow it out, then break for long time.

Def gotta say that for binging, mda has been way less taxing on the mind although the extra energy from it has made me prone to rolling for more than one day in a row nonstop...the high seems to keep working. Whereas with mdma, I think the magic would've been long gone and I wouldn't have kept eating the pills.

In my experience, I found the same that you are finding. With MDMA, I usually feel super euphoric for hours, and then come down, feel crappy, and then whatever. Then a few days later I get hit with depressive after effects. MDA however always left me with some sort of 'satisfied' feeling after I come down, similar to the feeling after coming down from a great mushroom trip. Just like "Yeah....that went great, glad I did it..." With MDMA I usually feel disgusted after coming down like "Ugh, I need to not do this anymore.."

I attribute this to the psychedelic twist that MDA has. Perhaps MDA is more forgiving on one's psyche but harder on the physical body, whereas MDMA is less toxic but more of a 'guilty indulgence'.
