MDMA "Side Effects?"

I'm not really asking about the actual side effects per se, but more in the sense of...does anybody else feel more empathetic after taking MDMA? I mean it in the sense of how when you take, say, LSD or mushrooms, you generally become a more open person, and that's been a common trend with everybody I know, as well as results from studies taken from various sources, including MAPS (if I'm not mistake, that is.)

So I guess my question is, is it a common thing for MDMA to change a person's outlook on life? Is it normal to become more empathetic afterwards, for days, weeks, months, even years after, or even a lifetime change?

I think so - or at least my experience has been that I have become more empathetic since I started taking MDMA. I feel much closer to my friends especially - and not just in the days following a roll or only the friends I have rolled with (although maybe them to a greater degree). I've also become much more of a huggy, cuddly person, to the extent that people often comment on what a good hugger I am. I think like LSD or mushrooms making people more open, MDMA allows you to explore the extent of your positive emotional capability and what you discover can carry through to 'real life'.

Of course.....I can also tell if I, or others, is doing it too often because that empathy is traded for shallow, bitchy feelings.

Sure, it changes people to some degree. I mean, looking back at my life before rolling and everything that happened, really looks like someone else was walking around in my body. All that aside, I really like that apathetic state that clings for days after rolling, like nothing can bother me.

I find when you first start your MDMA career you change, you look at people differently and so on. But if you make a routine like every month or so you roll that feeling leaves you and you slowly turn into an emotionless zombie. Or you just become more depressed, stressed, anxious, etc.
