MDMA recrystallization with hydrogen peroxide

I wanted to recrystallize their mdma powder. I don't know why I did it because the mdma was already very good. Anyways, I got the technique from some other guy who claims to know how to turn mdma powder back into moon rocks. He told me to dissolve the mdma in hydrogen peroxide then let the hydrogen peroxide (rite aid bought) evaporate by putting in the freezer for two hours then leaving out for two hours and repeating those steps until all the liquid has dissolved. The technique obviously did not work. I was left with the same powdery substance that he first poured into the hydrogen peroxide. Now the sludgy powder has been moved to coffee filters to dry off. I already know this was a complete waste of time and money. However, I want to know if this mdma is even safe to consume. Does mdma react in any harmful way to H2O2?

Rite-aid brand peroxide has stabilisers and shit in it (toxic - dont eat), and peroxide will react with MDMA and destroy it, so you've successfully ruined all your MDMA in the worst case and made it slightly more toxic in the best.
 
^ this, I definitely wouldn't wanna be eating any of that. Next time you should ask the questions first, before you start mixing random chemicals together =D
 
Recrystallization solvents aren't supposed to be chemicals that react with the product you are recrystallized. TL:DR you dun goofed.

if anyone wants to recrystallize MDMA, the solvents used should be Denatured Alcohol, or Water.... Peroxide is an oxidizer, and MDMA is not a stable element and the methylene dioxy bridge is very prone to attack by chemicals such as oxidizers. Whoever told you to do that was fuckin with u
 
Store-bought hydrogen peroxide is only 3% hydrogen peroxide with 97% water. It is relatively safe to drink at this concentration - some people believe there are health benefits to drinking it, although I doubt this. The small amount of hydrogen peroxide in there was probably not reactive enough to react with the MDMA much, so really you just have MDMA dissolved in water. This did nothing to purify it and you've probably lost some of the material along the way, but anything that you get dry on that coffee filter is still safe to take.

This technique is absolutely not how to recrystallize something - it has a few elements of a recrystallization, but your friend has it very, very mixed up.

The compound mdma is already toxic / neuro toxic so go ahead add more toxins to it. It is already destroying serotonin neurons if you take a dose high enough to peak.

Not sure if the product is still usable.

Its probably okay just proceed with caution. Small doses only to begin with!

Scureto1 makes a valid point just check the percentage used of hydrogen peroxide.


Assuming its usable:

Wash the powder from the filter with acetone

Process 1

To recrystalize (change amounts as required, keep ratios same)
(courtesy of a bee site) (actual working recipe)
for water H2O use deionised and neutral ph

100g powder and 500ml acetone in a flask/beaker with a stirbar (powder doesnt dissolve at this point)
Heat and stir until acetone begins boiling
Add H2O a few mls at a time until everything dissolves
1ml of H2O will dissolve several times it's weight so give it plenty of time to stir and dissolve in between additions
When only a small amount of powder remains undissolved distill off about 100mls of liquid pour into a pyrex baking dish and let it evap slowly for a few days
In the end there will be crystals covered in a layer of syrupy acetone/oil
Discard the acetone syrup and wash the crystals with fresh acetone"

Process 2 courtesy Sassa Bee

Dissolve mdma HCL totally dried and acetone cleaned on a minimun amount of lab grade boiling methanol,
(only use minimum methanol to totally dissolve the batch)
Let Methanol cool slowly and let it evaporate at ambient temperature. (cool slowly is important)
It takes like 2-3 days for methanol to evaporate
You then end up with a mass of oily crystals
Allow two more days for the crystals to dry out
Acetone Wash
