MDMA Recovery (Stories & Support - 3)

OK guys, a forum can provide some "recreational" help but this reaches into the medical / medicinal, so you really should consult a professional.

Wouldn't know about antidepressants, never took them, so no luck with that. However as long as it's tolerable I myself would prefer recovering the natural way. Eg, a healthy diet, a good night's sleep, getting out, and physical exercise. But if you meet the criteria for depression, according to a doctor, I guess there's no harm in taking them. Might as well fight drugs with drugs, not? Truth is depression / anxiety can cause pretty much all the symptoms you're reporting.
That's true I hope to god I recover some day ! maybe give ssris a go nothing to loose

I've also been impotent for 8 months and have horrible head pressure and brain fog .. Do u think an ssri would help ?

I can't give you a valid explanation regarding the skin issues and muscle atrophy, however head pressure above the eyes is usually a symptom of the brain attempting to re-wire

I have heard of SSRI's helping many people with LTC's, but personally I don't think they are a great option for recovery. Im not sure how long you have been going through all of this, but i would wait 2-3 years then assess options such as SSRI's/other medications.

The head pressure/ headache is at the back of my head it's just constant I have terrible brain fog aswell it doesn't seem to be getting any better.
I used to work out 4 days a week ive not done anything since this ltc 8 months ago so obvs I'm not goina have the same muscle tone but it just feels tottally diffrent along with pricking and tingling feeling in my skin

So its been 8 months ? You still have a long way to heal...
I would expect you to start feeling much better in 2016, and even after you do feel better, there will be some healing taking place. I've read journals in which serotonergic innervation progressed over a 7 year period.

Does that mean you have stopped working out ? I think you should start again, and also do cardiovascular activities, which is proven to promote BDNF growth, whilst also increasing the blood flow to your brain.

1 supplement i would recommend taking is ginko biloba

Don't expect to be better after 8 months, because honestly the 'norm' is 1-2 years.

Try your best to keep a positive mindset as well...and that's not a cliché.

I understand its probably been the worst 8 months of your life (im going through my own shit and im only at 9-10 weeks), but you need to give it more time

I still do som exercise like football and that but I end up in agony for days after it i no longer do weights or that though.
Everything feels like rubber in my body and feel so depressed always wakening up at 4 and 5 in the morning.
Do u think this will get better in time ?
It is really uncontrolable constantly go on about it I just want to be ok for my gf and son ?

It's been a year since I started this bumpy road. I've had some up and downs, but I'm feeling much better! I only have some small twitchs when I go to sleep. I sleep fine, I don't have troubles going to sleep, the Exploding head syndrome has come and gone (although sometimes I still get it), the depression is gone as well.

I was able to consume MDMA again (always tested and in low doses), and I had a good time. I'm planning on taking again this saturday (last time was in July), I choose it in crystal form, it seems to be cleaner than the pills. Hang in there, there's light at the end of the tunel, and if you do it carefully, you'll be able to keep enjoyinging this (but you'll have to be much more careful!)

If you feel like you can't take it anymore, GO TO A PSYCHIATRIST/DOCTOR, they will be able to help you. Trust me.

I understand and appreciate you're trying to help, but a friendly reminder that:

- Headache, above the eyes or elsewhere, is a symptom of virtually every condition
- As the brain lacks pain receptors I highly doubt brain "rewiring" manifests as headache
- There's no useful body of literature on MDMA abuse recovery
- His serotonergic metabolism being damaged is speculative

And... what does "LTC" stand for? Apparently even Google doesn't know.

I agree with you, you can't say that symptom relates to this and that symptom relates to that because the reality is no one knows what the fuck is going on.

LTC is an abbreviation we use here for long term comedown

You still the same Colin ?

Long-term comedown... I see. An interesting concept. Although "long-term crash" seems more appropriate.

It's a shame no more research or medical attention is devoted to it. I mean, I can see why, but still... we NEED science and medical professionals to solve these kinds of problems. Not waiting it out or opportunistic self-medicating. And especially outside of the Netherlands I guess you're stigmatized when you seek medical help for drug-related problems. Again, I can see why... but it's not fair. Tobacco-related illness is treated seriously, for instance.

Somtimes my anxiety does get really bad for no reason but that's cause I've got so many physical symptoms.
The head pressure comes in spells can head pressure be caused by anxiety.
Also my vision is all blurry constantly and Impotence aswell I honesty think this is to do with my nervous system but could I be possible for anxiety to do this

In the case of my shrooms-weed LTC, it started with physical symptoms, like brain fog, fatigue, sore muscles and joints, tremors, derealization, vertigo. Only later did I become anxious and a little depressed. So I told myself it was a consequence of the physical symptoms, and no doctor taking me seriously.

But in hindsight I believe I was just mentally... unhappy. Unfit. And it manifested physically. It's called a psychosomatic response. I'm very much a "psychosomatic" person, so I found out... So now I do lots of sports. And I quit / minimize smoking. And get enough sleep.

I didn't get blurry vision or impotence. The first could be caused by (subtle) hyperventilation, brought on by anxiety. Impotence can also be stress-related.

You are right a headache could be a symptom of various conditions, however it COULD be a sign of on-going attempts to regain homoeostasis... I'm not sure if you have ever heard of PAWS? Post-acute withdrawal symptom sufferers usually exhibit this exact symptom, although PAWS may not be valid to describe this particular situation.

Of course the brain itself lacks nociceptors, however there are plenty of other areas within the head, scalp, neck ect that do.

Most MDMA literature is practically useless regarding LTCs...Long term comedown is a bluelight made up term ! (we have to call it something -.-)

No progress - 10 months - learning to adapt to it, generally need a good nights sleep, taking mind off it helps, still going strong, peace brothers and sisters

I wake up during the night all the time ? can never fickong sleep and feel so depressed

Did anyone experience or still experiences a lot of hypnagogia (images, noises) during their LTC. I find it to be very annoying and very anxiety provoking.

I have also sleep problem but in last 5 days I see improvements
I wake up 1 time at night only and if I don't think about it I sleep again...
If I think about symptoms even for 10 sec can't sleep

Okay, I see. But for what it's worth -- I take it rewiring takes place at the neuronal level, so I don't suppose head or scalp would be sensitive to that. Or even the meninges, for that matter.

I get this, too, when I'm stressed. Like last couple of nights. Also, I've been smoking and drinking coffee too much lately. Doesn't help either.

Thank god I never did. That shit is creepy.
