MDMA more neurotoxic than both Mephedrone and Methylone?

Sure, but MDMA is quite a bit stronger than methylone as well so that makes sense. Mephedrone seems much more like a stimulant than an empathogen, so I'm not sure if a comparison is quite as valid. Not to mention meph is said to have a VERY ugly dark side.
 
Mephedrone releases more serotonin than MDMA? First time I've heard that. Its got a potent kick to it but it is much more dopamine than serotonin I thought?

Either way, MDMA is undoubtedly more noticeably neurotoxic than methylone or mephedrone - but that doesn't mean that the other two aren't neurotoxic. Its quite likely that both methylone and mephedrone are damaging to dopamine systems, its just that the consequences of MDMA neurotoxicity are much more in your face because of the broad spectrum of functions that serotonin has versus the dopamine reward pathway.

true true, but my personal experience is that clean mephedrone is pretty empathogetic, just stumbled across it and wanted to see what you guys said!

Hmmm. Fascinating. I used to abuse the shit out of mephedrone and I paid for it but not the same way that I paid for MDMA abuse.

Admittedly, I did as little research into mephedrone as possible because I knew it was horrible for me and I didn't want to hear it.

Honestly, I was frying so hard with the mephedrone that I've got very little memory from that entire time. I know that crash wise, I thought I was going to have a heart attack more than once and had to drink myself to sleep because my benzos weren't even putting a dent in the stimulation and I remember that I lost the experience of pretty much any pleasure for over a year. Everything in life was boring. So I drank. And drank. And drank some more. It was horrible.

With MDMA, its much more anxiety, depression, insomnia... but with mephedrone it was anxiety, depression, insomnia, loss of pleasure, psychosis a few times and a complete loss of any interest in life or anything in it.

oh shit.. does not sound fun at all... do you feel that you have recovered today?
 
Eh, I'd say around 75% but I stopped doing drugs in 2011 besides booze and benzos (and one 2C-T-7 and one mescaline trip in early 2012) so its questionable with regard to how long its taken me to get there when it comes to if I believe I will fully recover or not.

oh i see.. hope you will get 100% well soon! any symptoms you can say you have?
 
Does anyone feel the same negativity towards methylone though? I've had a great interest in experimenting with it, as I've had only one relatively boring and long ago experience with any empathogens, and methylone is somewhat available to me.
 
I find methylone to feel much less toxic than MDMA, which doesn't necessarily mean it is, but take that for what it's worth. I really like methylone a lot, it's a great substance, much more clear-headed than MDMA, a little cocaine-like but also empathogenic.
 
A few months ago I couldn't stand methylone for whatever reason. I got some quality methylone about a month ago and dosed properly and I now love it. It'll never top my love for MDMA but it's certainly a nice drug and much less neurotoxic from what I can tell.
 
Is there any kind of verified evidence of it being less neurotoxic? I realize that some of the neurotoxicity has been overstated for MDMA in propaganda, I'm unsure about anything related to methylone; people generally talk down on anything that gets sold as an MDMA replacement even if it has real value on its own. I'm just curious if it can be used a few times with proper dosages and one could come out relatively unharmed kinda thing. Of course, the dangers of MDMA have never concerned me, but as far as I know I've never done it.
 
The neurotoxicity of any of these drugs isn't seen until high, repeated doses. As per usual, everything is completely overstated and misrepresented.

you cannot tell from subjective experience if something is neurotoxic. serotonogenic neurotoxicity only becomes obvious once something like 90% of the susceptible neurons are dead. and then it's irreversible. to make it clear: this is not something we have ever observed with mdma in humans. feeling bad/impaired for a few days/weeks can be due to serotonin depletion, differences in receptor/transporter regulation or due to psychological issues, but not due to neurotoxicity.

no, because neuroxocity has never been verified to happen with mdma in humans.

You're right, neurotoxic isn't the word I should have used. I recover faster from methylone use and this is probably due to less serotonin depletion than MDMA.
