MDMA makes me want to sit down. Not rave.

ok so to be fair the first time I took it at a dance club the music did seem way more intense and I did feel like raving my ass off then (for about an hour anyway). But most times when I take it, MD just makes me crash out in the corner. I feel fucking amazing sat there doing nothing, but I just totally zone out pretty much, gurning away to myself.

I told my friend this and he says i'm doing too much (one 250 mg bomb most nights). He says that that much at once totally anihilates you. So doing less and maybe mixing it up with some energy drinks might help me get more of 'rave' buzz?

haha i used to do that all the time, in fact most of my friends and I used to chill up the back and roll joints/rack up coke etc. Yeah lowering the dose can help. Its hard to tell without knowing your experience and tolerance. Try halving it and re-dosing after a couple of hours.

Yeah too much MD will floor you :P

Got two choices really.

1, dose lower go around the 100-150mg mark for an inital dose followed by a 50mg dose an hour later youl find, most likely, you won't be stuck on your ass (and if you are try dosing 100 instead) and probably find you will enjoy it more that way. 250mg in one bomb is a big amount IMHO. More isnt always better.

2, whilst in terms for harm reduction which is the goal for BL and mods forgive me if I shouldn't reccomend it, but a bit of speed whether it be amp or meth will give your roll some energy and should keep you on your feet and prevent getting floored. Don't over do it though, you just want a subtle push from the speed. I personally dose the speed an hour before dosing the mdma. It does increase the neurotoxicity though, both from extra dopamine free radicals and from the extra heat your body will produce so be careful on this combo stay hydrated and dont go to crazy! Another alternative is caffeine. Many tabs also contain speed in them also ontop of the mdma.

Another tip too dude, take it from me this may be the best piece of advice you get - Treat MDMA with respect and it will treat you with respect. The stuff WILL cause damage if you get greedy.

yeah that was too much, i've got 5-htp and am gonna leave it for two months til I roll again.

two months will be enough for my body to recover right? with 5-htp as well.

^ Eat turkey and tuna, along with some beans. It will do what 5-HTP is SAID to do, but with out the extra stress on your liver.. and not to mention it actually works.

250mg is WAY too much though, no wonder you don't want to dance lmao. 150mg should still keep you up, but even that dose has me pretty floored. If you really want to add some extra energy, try taking a 5 Hour Energy with your pill. The caffeine gives you energy, but the B vitamins will actually give your body the fuel it needs to make that energy. It works very well for that purpose.

The first time I took MDMA, I danced like CRAZY until 7am. Ever since that first night, all I want to do is relax when I take it...although I agree 250mg at once is quite a lot. It looks like that is contributing. But everyone likes it in different ways- my friends, boyfriend and I hate to have to stand and dance all night while rolling, we all tend to want to lay around with blankets and be comfortable! I would say definitely cut your dose, but try rolling at home and see what you think. Everyone has their preferences :) (there are some good threads about rolling at home, as well, if you give it a try- how comfortable you make the setting impacts the roll!)

I dunno, I always want to dance like a madman if i'm at a proper rave or show and the music's good. I rolled at a normal club night the other day though and the music was terrible and the drunk people were annoying us and no one was dancing, so we all went home early and just chilled the fuck out in my room until the early hours. Much better.

I had some amazing times on mdma just sitting and talking to people. it can be just as fun as raving.

I prefer MDMA in a closed "house" environment with familar people, rather than dancing my ass of somewhere. A house has everything I need, whenever I need it, and there is almost no chance of being uncomfortable. No matter the dose, I'll be walking around jumping on the come up part and mostly sitting down throughout the rest of the experience. It kinda depends on the person's preference, not just the dose.

That's really all I do on it, Iend up talking to anyone and everything that will listen (which is numerous people because I'm so interesting ;) )

250mg is a HUGE dose to take in one drop, if its pure you'll be floored with euphoria and INTENSE body rushes from God himself... If i did 250mg right now.. I'd want to sit with my cat and stereo at home, orgasming in the couch by myself...
120mg sounds more doable.. you wouldnt be flying off the ground like 250mg at least

To be honet, I feel alright. it's been a few days without any supplments (last used on Friday) and I don't have any anxiety or depression or feel any different to normal, like usual when I do MDMA (and I always do the same amount). I think people ignore the fact that a lot of people can and do take mdma quite frequently (some even every weekend) and never really see any long lasting negative side effects. Whether it's cause there brain naturally reproduces serotonin faster or something, I don't know, i'm not a neurogologist. A lot of people who have studied MDMA have said it's a relatively harmless drug.

point is, I seem to be quite resilient to the after effects of MDMA use, and although i'm not gonna risk it ( I don't take it anymore than once every other month) I think I'd probably actually be fine taking it more than that. Although as I said, just in case, not gonna risk it, and I should try to keep it special.

^ I used to think the same way, everyone does. They don't notice the side effects, so they think they are immune to them... dead wrong.

It just means you still have a healthy brain, and it CAN repair quicker than normal. If you decide to push that though, it will get to the same frazzled state we are all in, and instead of that AWESOME afterglow that lasts for days its an AWFUL comedown that lasts for weeks.

Believe me, I went down that exact route myself and have watched countless others fall into the same line of thinking..

You're not invincible ;)

What I mean is though, you see so many people on here suffering from long term anxiety, depression, etc, (some haven't even used mdma that much) that people get very paranoid, and it gives off this impression that if you take mdma, your gonna have loads of long lasting problems. Really though, the overwhelming majority of people who use mdma, not abuse it, are fine.

Of course, it is powerful stuff, and should be respected, but for most people, taking it once every two or three months won't cause any real problems.

In terms of the OP's orginal question though.

I personally think that MDMA by itself is a very relaxing, peaceful drug. It got it's reputation as the 'rave' drug as most of the old ecstasy pills had a fair bit of speed in them too, so they got the euphoria from MDMA and the energy rush of speed.

Just going from what I've been told, ofc it's a generalization I wasn't around to test the contents of every single ecstasy pill in the early 90's, literally just what I've been told from older ravers, who say pills were 'speedier' back in the day.
