Well, this all happened on New Years Day, 2002 at a festival in Melbourne, Australia called Summerdayze.
After having a quiet NYE my fiancee and I decided to dance it up at the Myer Music Bowl, a nice outdoor amphitheatre. The weather was wet but mild, and the crowd typically spaced after a hard night out.
I'd started out with two halves of Ecstacy about 1/2hr apart, when a friend annouced to me that some liquid LSD was for sale. Having thoroughly enjoyed my last journey with the liquid I was all for another drop.
He took me to the vendor, who, I think, had obviously been sampling too much of her own product. She looked at me with vacant eyes and proceeded to place a rather LARGE drop of liquid lsd on my hand.
"Oh my", I said. "Congratulations, you just got two for the price of one" she said.
A quick lick later and I was on my way back to the dance floor to await the impending trip.
I was already feeling pretty bright from the ecstacy and slowly but surely the lsd crept up behind me and slid into the back of my cerebral cortex and before I knew it, the walls of the amphitheatre were bending around at impossible angles at heights beyond imagination and I was suddenly aware that I was surrounded by a sea of 10,000 odd people. I'm the kind of person that likes a bit of space, not claustrophobic mind you, but uncomfortable in a great big arse crowd! So it came with some relief when my fiancee asked me to accompany her to the nearest amenities.
By this time I was pretty much peaking as far as the LSD was concerned, I think it was about an hour after ingestion, and walking out of the crowd was a tricky experience indeed. However, while I was waiting for my fiancee at the public toilets, I took the opportunity to look into the blue sky and received the most awe inspiring euphoria I've ever felt. The beauty of the clouds rolling across the sky was beyond description. I panned my view across to the beautiful Melbourne city skyline and to a rolling mass of dark rain filled clouds powering their way over our heads.
"I think it's gonna rain" I said to my fiancee. That was the understatement of a lifetime. It pissed, it poured, it pelted, it pounded.......it rained cats and more cats, and dogs too. So we ran for shelter, along with about 7,200 other people. Needless to say we came in about 4,231st so we got really wet and gave up. I quite enjoyed the feeling of the rain on my skin, less so the feeling of wet jeans on my thighs.
We finally got back into the centre of the crowd where our friends were but by now my brain was feeling a bit restless and the crowd was making me a bit jittery. I started to get freaked out by the fact that if I wanted to get out of this place really quickly, I couldn't, there were just too many people. I had to try really hard to stop myself from heading into a negative downward spiral and freaking out. Add to that the lights and the music and I was suffering a bit of sensory overload.
By this stage it had been about 4 or 5 hours since I ingested the liquid LSD and I was still tripping but in enough control to realise that I should have a change of scene. I told my friends that I was going for a walk and they took one look at me and understood why I was going. I think they could see a little fear in my eyes…..
I headed up the back of the Myer Music Bowl and studied the beautiful Melbourne city skyline. By now it was quite dark and the lights were entrancing. This immediately brought my spirits back up and to add to that, I ran into my friend, we’ll call him Alf, who was with me when I purchased the LSD and had taken some himself. We decided to sit down and partake in a bit of acid chat.
After taking shit for a while we noticed we were sitting next to a giant inflatable dog. The event had lots of inflatable animals and creatures around the place which were cool, but this dog was sitting right next to us and immediately became our special friend.
“Let’s call him……..dog” said Alf
“yeah dog” I said. Amazing how a supposed altered creative mind can come up with such an original name for a dog.
We spoke fondly about our new friend “dog” for a while then noticed something a little disturbing. In order to hold “dog” down (presumably so he would float away), the organisers had pierced dog’s skin with hooks and tethered him to the ground. Not only that, there was some air pump device pumping what we decided was serious drugs into poor “dog’s” body to keep him in a relaxed state of mind and stop him from struggling against his cruel bondage.
Well, this sent is right off the deep end. “Outrageous!” we screamed. Our poor giant doggy friend “dog” was tied up, drugged out and deserved freedom. Luckily for us our friends turned up soon after and convinced us to leave “dog” where he was and come home with them. Poor “dog”.
To wrap up this rather long report (apologies for my verbosity), we headed back to our place and played a few records whilst happily coming down of our trips. There were several uncomfortable moments in this journey and I attributed that to breaking some of my own rules about acid use. I had always told myself, only take acid in the right mind set and setting. Well, I’d indulged after already taking another drug, which had throw the responsibility part of my brain out the back of my head, and had taken acid in a setting that I believe was not ideal for acid use, personally speaking of course. I had a lot of fun times on the day, but I believe I can have and even better time if I do it right next time, which I plan to!
Thanks for reading, hope it wasn’t too long and boring. I probably didn’t follow all the right trip report guidelines but I got a little carried away with delusions of creative grandeur and this is what popped out.
Cheers!

Fun report! I enjoyed your descriptiveness. You are OK on the guidelines, giving approximate doses, times, and effects is important. It always helps to be as descriptive as possible.
I just have one question: Do you think that the LSD overpowered the MDMA? By reading your report, I get the feeling that you lost touch with the effects of the ecstasy shortly after dosing the LSD.

most definately nephil. Once the LSD really kicked in it cancelled out the ecstacy almost completely. I did recieve some amazing euphoria as I mentioned but that was nothing like an MDx rush i felt. Much more intense I think.
I think the ecstacy was pretty much a waste of time!

Good report - may I suggest ingesting the LSD and then about 1:15h to 1:30h later ingest the MDMA. I've found this to be the optimum way to enjoy a good, happy LSD/MDMA combo.
