So before my first ever roll one of my friends were wasting time on youtube, as you do for most of the time when you're in university, and he showed me this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BiYBbdFiYck
He'd dropped a couple of times before, and someone had shown him this video of a girl they both assumed had done wayyyy too much. We'd all heard of people gurning like gargoyles, but never this.
I was with him the first time I dropped, actually, he's been there every time I've dropped, it's always good to have a constant.
Anyway, as I came up I got the usual signs he'd explained, my neck and hands got tingley, my pupils dilated, my knees sort of 'went', everything was amazing.
And then when I stopped smiling I noticed my jaw. If you've watched the video, it's like this, but worse, a lot worse. I always have chewing gum with me when I drop because the chewing action stops it, but once I take the chewing gum out I jitter like a motherfucker. And look like the craziest girl on the dancefloor all jittery and big eyed.
I know magnesium can help gurning, I've considered trying it, but for me I like the sort of come-up 'tells' I get, like the jittery jaw and my hands going ice cold (which is good for the people around me when they get boiling hot). It's also quite nice to dance to dub and let the jitters do their thing, it's relaxing in a way, even thinking about it makes me want to be rolling.
I just wanted to know if anyone else gets this. All the events I've been to I've never met anyone else who has this issue.
Thanks :D

First time I rolled I had what that girl was experiencing with eye wiggles too - it was amazing, felt the happiest i'd ever felt. Its dumb how they just sit there analysing the physical effects instead of enjoying it - good tunes, start smiling and she could have gone higher and higher instead of freaking out.

But yes, teeth jitters are one sign your fucked, and the upside down smile - even worse! haha

I tried to train myself not to do that jaw thing - just take a minute to make a concerted effort to retain control of it, i.e. relax it and move it from side to side, then clench it, massaging the muscles which control your jaw to ease the tension. You can do a similar thing if you find your eyes are locked in a half closed state - consciously open them wide and close them shut, maybe splashing them with some water. It's not to say that any of these superficial giveaways are a problem, just that you can occassionally pull yourself back from that smashed look, especially if you feel good inside.
