I've not heard of anyone among ALL the people I know that've abused mdma that have depression resulting from it. I've been starting to think that maybe America's over cautious attitude towards it maybe making people misdiagnose? Most people use ecstasy in their early 20s and most people start getting depression in their early 20s.

what do you guys think?

It made me depressed and affected my memory, when I was taking pills several times a week, for years. As for long-term effects; none. I don't believe MDMA is particularly neurotoxic, if at all. If it is, the brain seems to recover, quickly after stopping. I've taken well over a thousand pills/doses MDMA, and many mates have done the same, and no one is complaining about any sort of damage. Americans are definitely far too paranoid about it.

It's not news that America loves to prescribe.

It's not misdiagnosis it's money money money.

The Americans on the m.d forum are pure cringe.

Caution is a good thing I guess but they all sound like crashing bores.

When I was a lad if you were planning a night on the m.d I'd hit the off licence and get some weed.
I wouldn't be hitting Holland and Barrettes for vitamins and supplements.

I always get the mental image of getting bored silly at an after party while some American kid drones on about his 'pre roll' and 'post roll' routine.

It's all bollocks imo

if m.d caused depression there would be untold millions of damaged 30, 40, 50 year olds.

I find it kinda strange. Back in the early 90's we all recognised E syndrome but that was when we all took way to much and to regular.

We were in today's US terms totally reckless with multiple days and always living for the weekend, which started on a Thursday.

We also knew that if we stopped dropping for a few weeks things would reset. Biggest issues were always combo's doing phet and E. Coke and E.

Coke in early 90's raves was rare and pariah. Coke use in the rave came around when it moved into clubs and the genre of music split apart into fluffy house and having to wear nice smart shoes and a shirt (places I avoided like the plague) IE Miss Moneypennies.

I think there is a lot of Pandora's box going on plus contamination with not MD in the US. IE takes what they thought was MD and wasn't but then blames MD or it blows their minds and then struggle to interpret the experience which creates waves in their psyche.

Also could be soemthing to actually do with the debate on regional pills re change on precursor that more are being affected. IE mg content has increased but the product inside is more prone to being neurotoxic.

That's just my ramblings. Feel sorry for them mind cos it's such a beautiful Chem.

Sure some of them indeed do based on the fact Detroit was pretty much the birth place of it all. Plus the first real MD producers were US. The Texas scene was one of the first using MD on a big scale.

But nothing I ever could see was in comparison to what happened in the UK.

I got into the scene 89 but really deep between 91 - 96.

Although Detroit was the birth of techno and New York house it always seemed that there was very little going on in the US on a major group conscious scale like the UK.

The Monday's were kind of a sideshow to the main act for me along with the roses and charlatans. Kind of like your first intro to then discover a lot more depth within electronics via the DJ and the 1210s

US they had their clubs and dj's and some fine releases but there never really seemed to be that E culture we had of thousands gathering in fields to get mashed up hugged up and believing we were creating a new society.

I spent two months in LA in 1990 and there was very little to be seen of the electronic music we were getting in the UK. When i played guys there tapes they didn't get it. No real scene I could see at the time nor any MD. lots of Coke and crack.

EDM seems to me like their first true movement into mass rave consciousness. 20 years late and possibly when the drugs have altered. So we see a lot more of the will I ever be the same again threads.

I've turned down 3 very good job offers in the last 8 years to move to Murica. Cos I thought it was a shit life there. Now I'm starting to really wonder if I actually got the shit sandwich staying here.

Never thought we'd would be the dumbasses when it comes to weed and psychoactives.

E started off life recreationally in the US , the gay scene picked up on it and in the early /mid 80's you could buy it in clubs before it was made illegal but it didn't take off . a bunch of people who I knew from living in tenerife brought the whole thing back in 87 after visiting ibiza )niky holloway, johny walker, danny rampling, paul oakenfold and a few more were the dj's and danny started shoom in 87 in london and thats where it caught on..man i coud tell some stories about certain lads being caught with shed loads of pills in ibiza back then - they were all coming in from the states - the 1st ones were 'cali's' little white pills scored down the middle, best pills evah! £20 a pop. When i look back i feel kinda privalidged to have been in at the begining of a scene that still is massive across the globe but started so small at Shoom that held maybe 100 people and only ran for about 8-9 months but springboarded all the warehouse raves (Genesis, biology, sunrise energy became semi-legit and had banging raves) best club? for me confusion on Shaftsbury ave and Trade (1st club with a 24h licence and fucking mental)...well thats London in a nutshell. Not dropped a pill for 18 years or so but must have done well over 1000 in my timemaybe nearer 1500 : ). Get on one matey

Trade on clerkenwel rd was my favourite club ever used to go there 7am on a Sunday , but as for depression most of my mates became a xtc casualty (as we called it ) in one form or another depression/anxiety ones now agoraphobic but we really kicked the Arse out of it like treacle taking multiple pills a few nights a week.
I was so fucked up at one point I hardly left my gf bedroom for 6 months. But the depression does go eventually.
Like blondin I haven't done a pill in years , but would like to do a couple to see how they compare.

@blondin I knew a couple of the people you mentioned but the wildest cunt I ever met was Brandon block that fucker was wild. Prober good people , times and memory's ( just about ).=D

Good times indeed guys. I always put my drug issues down to the billy. We began to do it mid week as a pick me up but then it began running into the opening act of the weekend. It was cheap as well at least a lot cheaper than pills were then. Christ they were like £20 each!!
