Does anyone else identify with being the "first" in your group or setting to try mdma and reap its benefits (and pitfalls)

i personally did it before it became a standard thing among my peers, also my friends were wary and criticized, now most of them have succumb, when someone mentions mdma i have a sense of superiority as ive been there first and know the drill.

so anyone else introduce others to it or see it become a phenomenon after you did it

I was with a group of close friend and we all tried it for the first time together. so I didn't have the pleasure...

I see it with all drugs in general really. I think it is a cultural thing. people always seem to assume they know more about drugs than you do and assume they have done more than you and assume they can handle their shit better than you. It is a strange thing.

I was going to post something in drug culture about it to see what their take was.

If you tell someone you are baked....they smoked more weed in cooler places
If you tell someone about your trip...they took a 10 strip with jimmy hendrix
If you did a line of coke...they did an 8 ball and fought off the whole local police force.

seen it more times than I care to count and frankly...I lump them all into the catagory of "whatever dude"

I took MDMA of my own accord with people around me advising me not to. One of my best decisions in all honesty! I've introduced it to one of my friends who has tried it twice but only ever with me. The rest of my mates are still anti-drug nazis with no idea about the real effects and dangers of recreational drug use. Of course last night we all got smashed on alcohol because thats fine...

lol.

The title of this thread made me feel a bit uneasy.

I started using MDMA relatively early (at 16), but it was my friends who introduced me to it. Ecstasy was really, really big at my high school. When I started branching out, however, I met people who hadn't tried it until college, which I thought was strange because it had been so popular at my HS. But I guess it just varies based on location and the circle with whom you surround yourself. But one thing I can say is that I've always loved EDM, and I remember getting made fun of for liking it, and now it's incredibly mainstream. I don't have a problem with that at all, of course, but I think it's funny how the crowds at some of these events has changed quite drastically. I remember going to clubs at 16/17 when all they played was hardstyle, and the crowd consisted primarily of a bunch of young kandi kids. Now when I go to shows/raves, there are still of course those people who are in the scene and have been for awhile, but there are a lot of bros and frat guys, too, who are just now getting into it. I remember being young and looking at people my age (23) and thinking that they were way too old to still be rolling. Lol and of course now that I'm at that age, I'm still doing it, but much, much more sparingly than I used to.

haha first time i did it my friends were relatively sober, i went of somewhere and went into deep conversation with these girls, no idea who they are, now
i get excited on their behalf on their first time, take on a caring role helping them with come-up nerves. i have preached the benefits of MD putting you in touch with yourself like a mystical shaman, but i also have said "no more for months!" under the influence.

Yeah i also still have friends that are anti drug nazis, but thats also because i know so many people who abuse the drug and just send out a negative representation really. Ignorance and fear also have a lot to do with it

When i first did Mdma it was in 1991 n we were all paying at first £20 then £15 a pill

phenomenon indeed

One of the few drugs I can trump Brimz on. 1989.

And I've never had a 3 month break.

Never fought the police on any drug. But I have on picket lines and demonstrations.

Never took acid with Hendrix. Probably took more acid than Hendrix though.

Smoked weed at Machu Picchu. So yeah, guilty on that one. But I've smoked weed everywhere. Sorry.

Title of thread is rank.

i tend to agree. :)

bluelight is often drenched in dick-sizing - when people have to tell you how much more, or how much better and "i'm going to get this drug" and "i just did that drug" all the time, i have to wonder.

alasdair

I Luv U man <3

I was the first of my group of friends to try speed, LSD and Ecstasy. I can remember having to order my Ecstasy (it was not called E or pills) - I would normally give 3 to 4 days for delivery :D. My dealer (was my LSD connect) at the time used to say - be careful with this, not sure what it is :D....Ommmm nommmm nommmm

Nobody that I knew at the time would even dream of taking a full pill!

You sir, Deserve so many brownie points for hitting the nail right on the spot!

its funny how popular it became over the past 5~ish years. When I first tried it, dance music + pills were only for weirdos and such... now everyone is dropping pills at david guetta thinking theyre getting 'the full experience'.... poor them %)

I said this about MDMA in 2000 :p :p :p ( keeping with the title of the thread of course:))

I have an iphone 5.

Does this count? lol

Being serious now, me and friends first tried this back in 1988, so we definitley shared the experience, but, throughout the years I have obviously met many people since who had only just tried it, or was thinking about trying it.

I wouldnt say that it should make you feel in anyway superior to someone less experienced. In fact, id be slightly concerned due to the unique nature of that particular drug as to why it should feed ones ego...

As for see it explode into a phenonenom, I think that goes without saying. :)

I introduced my high school friends to MDMA they started coming to raves with me, but it's not something I'm proud of. They immediately became MDMA abusers and I know for sure at least one of them is an emotional basketcase on suicide watch now.
