MDMA -- Experienced -- Overdose and a trip to the hospital

It was very necessary to go to the hospital..... If you think somethings wrong when your on any substance, it's better to go to hospital just to be safe than to end up dead.... You would've done the same in this persons situation. You can't deny that.

I also think some of you are being extremely judgemental.
Sure, no doubt erowid and bluelight help a lot in keeping these very unfortunate occurances from happening, it's NEVER going to stop EVERYONE who visits these sites from falling into e-depression and abusing ecstasy (and other drugs).
I researched ecstasy on erowid for months beore deciding to try it. Did that stop me from eventually abusing it and taking in the region of 6+ a weekend (often in combination with whizz sometimes coke) for about a year and a half??? Did it fuck!!!
The fact, you can do as much research as you like on any drug, but until you try it, you don't really no much at all about it in truth!!! This is especially true with ecstasy.
I mean, take a look around here in the UK. Only the other day I was with a group of kids who were just getting into ecstasy and taking it every weekend in 4's and 5's and 6's.... I tried explaining that it would all end in tears if they didn't slow down. It was like talking to a brick wall!!!
Some people just seem to 'fall in love' with this drug and then they seem to just completely disregard everything they've researched and been warned about it. I was unfortunately a victim of this too.

Please try not to be so judgemental.

I can relate to what passmethevicks has experienced...... It's not pleasant, but in my case, a trip to the hospital did 'wake me up'. I've now quit E, whizz and coke, and i'm finally sorting myself out a bit..... Hopefully passmethevicks will do this too.
Glad to see you've pulled through though mate.....All the best.

It really dismays me that some one I've seen posting on here for so long fell into such a self-destructive pattern.
I had assumed that the people who roll twice a week or more, and get up to taking 4 or more pills just so they can peak, are people who know nothing about rolling and are not regulars on this site (since such people KNOW enough to know both WHY and HOW they should avoid this course of action).
But to have access to all that Bluelight offers (and Erowid) and to still allow this to happen...well, I just don't get it. You KNOW that rolls are less special the more you do. You KNOW that trying to roll even once a week, let alone more than once a week, over the long term is seriously detrimental to your health. You KNOW that if you just wait a 2 - 6 weeks between rolls, you can have that great roll every time without taking a million pills. You KNOW that there are other drugs out there you can enjoy in the meantime, if you do want to avoid sobriety.
Haven't all bluelighters on here read, ad nauseam, posts from some greenlighter saying "i've been rolling every week for 4 months and now I have nightmares every night, what should I do?" And you KNOW, from having read it a million times, that the answer--posted over and over--is that you can't safely roll that often.
How can anyone with any sense and with all this knowledge possibly fall into the habit of trying to get rid of e-pression by rolling?
What the hell is this site (and erowid) accomplishing if some one can be a regular on here and still fuck themselves up like this? Is this an aberration or are we just fooling ourselves in thinking people on here take any of this seriously?
Maybe the suicide thing is the answer. Frankly, the only way I can rationalize a bluelighter regularly rolling twice a week, week after week, is that the person IS trying to commit suicide. But the suicide was not this particular night of taking 16 pills. The suicide started when a bluelighter, who supposedly has all this knowledge, chose to roll so often in the first place.
Sorry if this seems judgmental, I am just very disappointed. But thanks for the report and best wishes.

Very valid points there, I agree with you. Unfortunatley, some people have problems that they think are easily curbed by drug use to escapre reality, or they just go in search of feeling something other than normalcy because it is this that has them depressed.
I'm glad your ok now, PassMeTheVicks. Hope you learnt from you experience and find happier days doing healthier things! ;)

thats silly. Im sure plenty of people get help from bluelight. Just because somebody can be both a drug addict and a bluelight regular it doesn't mean that bluelight is failing. THats absurd. Bluelight isn't the cure to all problems drug related. People depressed from E aren't nessacarily gonna be cured because they come to bluelight and read they shouldn't use it every week. In fact, im damn sure a most people new that taking it all the time was no good well before they ever heard of bluelight. The fact is, free will exists and people will act upon it regardless of some website they visit. Bluelight helps those who want to be helped. But it is 100% up to the person to allow themselves to be helped and to follow the advise given.

^^ Exactly!

Free will....
It's like smoking (nicotine). People are constantly told it's probably going to kill them, they know it's probably going to eventually kill them, they are shown all the cancer statistics, they know friends or family that have died of lung cancer........Does that stop people smoking??? No!
Same applies to heavy ecstasy use/abuse. People are told it's going to cause depression, anxiety, and it's really bad for you if you do it every weekend or double/triple dose......Doesn't stop everyone!
