SWIM tried searching for threads on this subject but was not successful so...

SWIM used to roll frequently, but has not in a couple of years. SWIM was planning on taking mdma (molly) this weekend but is a little worried because when SWIM used to roll he was not on any medications like he is now. SWIM takes Advair (fluticasone propianate and salmeterol) which is an inhaled corticosteroid/bronchodialator and Singulair (montelukast) a leukotriene receptor antagonist for asthma daily. SWIM also occasionally uses an albuterol inhalor if having asthma problems. The singulair can be stopped cold turkey, but Advair is not something that should be stopped suddenly. Does anybody know anything about possible MDMA drug interactions and if any of these medications might be an issue? Any info would be greatly appreciated :)

first of all: we dont use SWIM here on bl.

and the Advair might, but i doubt the Singulair will.

As far as i know if its not an maoi inhibitor or any ssri you should be fine, but try google.

i love being on e or mdma only prob is it hits me really hard an i get stuck in a corner lmao but i still love it exp with the music bass against my body

The danger of MDMA comes from its dramatic effect upon the serotonin system and subsequent endocrine response.

Although large amounts of cortisol are released during MDMA use, the risk should not be affected by a corticosteroid. Larger doses of these steroids would be inadvisable, as they are known to cause anxiety/aggression on their own. Just avoid the advair for several hours before and after.

Taking MAOIs (definitely) and (maybe) St. Johns Wort or 5-HTP can increase the chances of catching serotonin syndrome. Also known as 'serotonin toxicity' this is a sudden onset disorder which normally involves tachycardia, chest pain, severe anxiety/fear of death, and in extreme cases - a rise in body temperature. It can result in stroke/brain infarct, heart attack, and organ failure in untreated cases. It can be easily treated at a hospital, with a good prognosis, but for most the onset is quite sudden. Those on Bluelight have described it much like 'ego death' on LSD or simply the feeling of their 'insides boiling/being ripped out'. You do NOT want to experience this.

Note: if you suspect a case of this in yourself/others immediately lower body temperature - get cold fast. If you have benzos, they are normally safe. And call 911 - they have serotonin antagonists that can shut off the process. If treated quickly, outcomes are normally good.

The greatest risk of MDMA is its repeated use.
A mountain of research proves that re-dosing increases the 'toxicity' of MDMA.
The minimum definition of 'toxicity' that has been agreed upon by the vast majority of doctors:
long-term/permanent alterations in the 'brain-gut' circuitry.

MDMA, LSD, mushrooms, piperazines, mescaline..all these 'psychedelic' drugs are playing with the nerves that connect your intestines to your brain!
This network is more vast and complex than all the other neurotransmitter systems, and it has a dramatic effect upon blood distribution in the brain.

Spacing your rolls is very important, but not re-dosing is critical.
If you chose to do so anyways, a small amount before you come down is considered the safest route.

Take care of yourselves.

thanks for the info on the advair. was aware of the 5htp and maoi interactions, and of the risks of seratonin syndrome. just didnt know how advair relates to that. jw.. a friend who also takes advair took LSD while on it and had a good trip but noticed an extreme amount of body kinks/muscle tremors while on it while his friends did not.. could this have been related to the advair possibly?

I keep hearing that mdma + dxm dangerous but i've done it in the past with no noticable differences in comedown.
