MDMA Concerns

A friend of mine is concerned about his use of MDMA, but through research I am pretty sure he isn't bringing harm to himself (besides losing sleep and not eating). Here's a quick rundown on his use of MDMA: He received 5 points of MDMA in crystal form on Tuesday. He took a point Tuesday night, and gave one away to his dog. He slept for maybe half an hour Tuesday night/morning, and then took another one Wednesday morning before his first class started. Wednesday night he slept a little better since he had time to comedown, but still not amazing. (Keep in mind he has eaten very little in this time, but doesn't eat much normally anyways.) Thursday he had to take a test in his math class, so waited to take another point until his second class which is a cooking class. After the effects of the point hit him, he started to become a work machine! He performed the best he ever had in that class, and the teacher and principal were very impressed. It is now Friday, and he plans to take the last point at work since he knows how it affects him while working. His concerns are as follows: 1. He has pain in his neck, it isn't horrible but it's there. 2. He still feels pretty jittery on Friday morning, after the last dose being administered Thursday morning around 10. 3. And finally, he wants to know how bad this is for him. He has read a lot about it, and it says that it's not too terrible for you if you don't do it very often. But after today he will have taken 4 points in about 3-4 days. He's read about people going on binge trips for 3-4 days at a time consuming much more than he has, but being fine after making sure to replace the vitamins and nutrients. He has been drinking plenty of water, some milk, and trying to eat / nibble when he can. He does not currently have access to the vitamins and such you're supposed to take. This was his first time using pure MDMA, and he loved it! But after taking the last point he doesn't plan to take anymore anytime soon, because he doesn't like the stress it put on his body. But he may be able to get his hands on some shrooms, and would like feedback on those as well. He appreciates any feedback given, and for taking the time to reply.

Ime/imo you'll be fine. I wouldn't say its very good for you because realistically it take at very minimum a week or two for your brain to rebuild its stores of dopamine, noraprenephrine, seratonin. (sp?)

So in my opinion, it isn't healthy to take it like that. Because on the second or third day, your trying to draw chemicals from your brain reserves that you already used up the day before.

But with that being said, your doses are relatively low (I used to drop .5 in an hour, which is very irresponsible) and you haven't used it really frequently, so in the over all look at it. You'll be fine. But I would not do it again for at least a month. So your brain can recoup.

I just realized that you were talking about a friend not you, but I'm not going to go back and change it.

This is very irresponsible. Taking MDMA on a daily basis is very bad for you, and the fact that some other people did it and got away with it does not guarantee that you will too. If you've done your research, then surely you know what a long-term comedown is like. You can get through your day without rolling, and a little boost in productivity at work is simply not worth the potential consequences.

He'll be fine.
1. Pain in his neck would be due to all his endorphins being depleted, would not be a direct consequence from the drug unless he's hurt himself while rolling.
2. Well he's been rolling for 3-4 consecutive days, essentially he's coming down while he's coming up if that makes sense. He'll be fine in time most likely.
3. Honestly, that's not a healthy amount to be taking, as a few people have said here. Shouldn't top more than 200-300mg over one night every month if harm reduction means anything. Maybe the toll it took on his body would be reduced if he didn't do it so many days in a row. That said, he should be fine in time if this isn't a regular thing for him.
Shrooms are fine, albeit a lot different to MDMA. It might be worthwhile for him to look into some trip reports so he knows what to expect.

What is your friend actually trying to achieve by his drug taking?

IMHO As a friend I would be asking the question not of the symptoms after taking but actually exploring why the hell someone would even want to take MDMA during what appears to be a working week especially if it's their first experience. Seems a waste and honestly is more of an abuse rather than use scenario.

I don't know what a 'point' is. Assume it's a measured dose? I assume a point is enough to go above threshold dose?

But it still begs the question -why would anyone want to be gurning and rushing their tits off in a maths class / doing my best ever work on MDMA doesn't sound like that much fun compared to being with friends at home or dancing like a loon in a sweaty club. I'm not sure I would even be able to be in a kitchen doing my cookery class on a come up of quality MD!!

MDMA? Hmmm. Has he tested it? This pattern of use and ability to function in such places whilst on the drug sounds more like a stimulant binge pattern. Sleeping so little? It is not usually an issue MDMA which again suggests ampehtamine, meth, cathinone or some other RC type compound. If it is MDMA not so sure he is getting above threshold.

In summary your and my biggest concerns would be;
1. Why does your friend feel the need to use in this environments /setting?
2. Does your friend actually have MDMA - did he test it? And I don't mean someone told him - does he have physical proof of his own that the compound he is taking is indeed what he thinks it is?

Take care

PS giving drugs to dogs?

Seconds on taking MDMA at school/college/class or whatever - surely your friend's pupils would've been going wild? If I took MDMA in a scenario like that EVERYONE would know something was up after talking to me... And yeah seems like a bit of a waste, what was the motive behind that setting?

He probably hasn't caused any permanent damage but to keep that up could cause some very severe problems. MDMA is not the drug to abuse. In the future tell him to space his rolls out by at least one month, but optimally 3 months. Even 1 month is too short of a break.
