MDMA Comedown and SSRIs

After the use of MDMA your serotonin levels are lower than normal until about a few weeks/months, correct? I'm wondering if using an SSRI after MDMA use will shorten the duration of a comedown since it should boost serotonin levels.

Also, I've been on an SSRI for 2 days (yesterday and today) just to test how it makes me feel, but I plan on using MDMA on the 28th of December. I'm assuming that two days on an SSRI will not cause it to say in my system for a long time and will leave my system in a short period of time, but I'd like to make sure because I do not want to have Serotonin Syndrome.

Thank you.

SSRIs do not increase the amount of serotonin available, they just prevent the re-uptake of what serotonin is available to the receptor sites.

The comedown from MDMA is not due to lack of serotonin but down-regulation of the serotonin receptors. They were so bombarded by MDMA use that some turned off. SSRIs will not re-activate those. Only time will do that. Using MDMA while on an SSRI will reduce the MDMA's effects.

To be honest, if you're using SSRIs to cope with the comedown, you should not be using MDMA again for a while. You can't have your cake and eat it too. MDMA will fuck you up if you keep using it too often.

I'm using SSRIs to cope with anxiety issues. I was just curious if it would help. My last comedown lasted about a week, which was 2 months ago. And about the Serotonin Syndrome? Will I be ok?

I thought Serotonin Syndrome referred to making more serotonin available prior to taking MDMA.. for example by taking SSRIs or 5HTP and then taking MDMA. I think MAOIs are the worst.

I think some people use 5HTP as a pre roll to make more serotonin available for when they take MDMA. I am not completely sure about this but I want to say it's more commonly done by individuals who find they have to take more MDMA to get the same effects or are losing the magic etc because it makes the MDMA high "better" and "more potent" but this is something that increases your risk of serotonin syndrome.

5htp and SSRIs are better to be used after you have come down and have depleted serotonin levels.

If you take an SSRI prior to taking MDMA, it is likely to just not work.

If you take an MAOI before MDMA, you can go into serotonin shock.
