Mdma black liquorish smell

ok so from Ive been reading colour, taste, smell ect doesnt acculturately represent the purity of mdma... Lately I have been gettingh light brown MDMA froma reliable source, the high was clean no sketch. Then the same source game me MDMA that was blackish/DARKbrown, it has the oder of black liqourish when i smelled it the other stuff didn't. Basically I got more "clean" high from this blakc stuff then the more clearer stuff...My question is why does it smell like black liquorish and why did I get more high off off clearer stuff? (it was pure mdma)
 
You've probably acquired what most people call "sassy."

It's a dark brown/brown sugar colored molly correct? The liquorish smell is from the chemical Safrole, which is used in the production of MDMA.

Generally the only thing different between the 2 is that the brown molly generally has the impurities left over from the manufacturing procedure. I've been told that it also contains MDA, but I am unsure as to whether this is true.

Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong anywhere.
 
That's correct.
The color just means that the chemist didn't clean the product.
 
you sure it smelled more like black liquorish (anise/anethole) instead of like root beer (safrole)? they are very similar smells, i'm going to assume what you're smelling is like root beer which would make it residual safrole. safrole is a precursor oil and like NationofThuzzlam said it means the chemist didn't clean the product.
