My stint with Mdma is long said and done, but lately I have noticed that I am experiencing a strange, uncomfortable physical tension in my lower right abdomen, to the right of my belly button where my intestines are. I think that my previous cannabis habituation had probably been masking this symptom since it has been so long since I used Mdma but I only noticed it now.

I initially thought it was due to my present moderate alcohol consumption but upon stopping that nothing has changed. It can really be irritating and distracting at times. I like to experience transparency in my body and this is bringing me down to Earth a little bit.

I am already seeing a doctor for other things so I will mention this to him next time, it's not too big a deal but I am just curious if any other Mdma users have experienced something like this? I read on drugs forum somebody who described these sensations exactly and was attributing it to his prior Mdma use, and was claiming that Mdma ruined his health which led me to write this post. Also I did huge amounts of Mdma back then.

From what I gather 95% of my serotonin is located in the gut, and the serotonin network regulates the connection between the serotonin therein and the other 5% in my brain. From this it follows that intestinal problems could certainly be a concern down the road from Mdma abuse, even if the problem is located in the control center of the brain that is connected with the gut. Perhaps this sensation came about as my serotonin network rewired upon long term abstinence. Perhaps it is related to the malfunctioning of my serotonin network, or there is damage located in the long intestines. There isn't much of a correlation between the sensation and my current diet, and I haven't been using any drugs for a long while.

I recommend you go to the doctor's if this is worrying you and let him do the diagnosis. People around this board seem to blame every health problem they have after they started using MDMA on the MDMA and forget that being ill and encountering health problems is a normal part of life and happens to people who have never used MDMA as well.

I personally suggest you stop blaming a drug you stopped using long ago and like suggested earlier, go to the doctor in order to find out what is the real matter.

As I mentioned in the post, I am already seeing a doctor for other things but I had a full physical. My blood tests and everything came back great, so I am proposing that this might have something to do with how the Mdma rewired my brain-gut connection, allowing a usually unconscious process to enter into my conscious mind, and that it isn't so much a serious health problem as it is a minor annoyance. This could be something completely natural that I noticed in my meditation practice as well, and like I said it's not too big a deal, but I am interested in discussing the brain-gut connection nonetheless. A slight feeling in my gut has hardly fucked up my life, and I am not here to flame the chemical Mdma, although I certainly would never touch the stuff again due to the obvious risks.

I am mainly looking for people who have a good understanding of the brain-gut connection, how it relates to the chemical serotonin, and how Mdma fits in. Your post did not provide any valuable information, as it was simply an ego response.

Yeah, stims like amps will basically shit down the gut while you are on it, but ongoing issues is not normal. I would say at the very most the usage exacerbated some existing issue but that would have show right after most likely.

Honestly doesn't seem far-fetched to me at all. I don't think you guys understand how truly important serotonin is for digestion.

After I had been rolling every week I also experienced some major stomach discomfort. For some time I was almost convinced I had an ulcer from taking pills upon pills of caustic chemicals on an empty stomach and the feeling lasted a couple months at the very least. Eventually when I got my shit straightened out it went away though, as I'm sure yours will.

^ yeah but the effect should clear up fast after the drug clears the system, unless the reduced Serotonin factor of 15 days effects the gut as well?

What is the "reduced Serotonin factor of 15 days"? MDMA creates deficiencies in serotonin and a number of other hormones that can last for months, if not years.

It's likely not the drug itself causing the problem but a response to the changes it makes in the body

Now this almost isn't worth writing about, it's just a slight feeling to the right of my belly button. But my body is normally transparent and this can be an uncomfortable distraction at times if I let it get to me, especially when Im meditating - I find that it can hold me back from connecting with the void. It's almost like my intestines at my right lower abdomen are in knots.

I was also a poly drug user, but I connected this feeling with my past Mdma usage due to the connection of serotonin with digestion I had read about, and also since I have a gut feeling (no pun intended) that I rolled a little too often back then. I also believe that extensive Mdma use can initiate a physiological process that lasts potentially for years, with many ups and downs along the way. Sure I haven't taken it in a while, but honestly 2010 can sometimes feel like it was just around the corner.

Since I no longer trip out on hard drugs all the time and I have a healthy diet, this will probably go away with time. And I am still able to get a whole lot of beer and shrooms into me, that's a good sign :)

When serotonin is massively released and the receptors in the gut are stimulated, it can be very irritating to the intestines! Trust me, you're not nearly alone on this one. Although nausea and vomiting are more common side effects of MDMA than what you're describing, your issue is most likely related. Try making ginger tea by boiling some cut-up and peeled ginger in a pot of water, that seems to work for me!

it might be serotonin but if your feeling fine in general then your serotonin is prob back to normal, serotonin usually returns to near-normal in about a week. a few weeks for it to recover entirely. alternatively pills/md/speed ect can cause the production of too much acid in the gallbladder which in turn can give you irritation. you might need to get some pump inhibitor medication if its bad, that would generally clear it up pretty fast. other than that id suggest not going near caffeinated drinks/spicy fatty foods ect. just eat fruit/veg (grapes esp)/fibres ect. take fish oils, and pro-biotic yoghurt's ect. too much green tea causes constipation, thats prob not what you want.

Ginger tea, but of course! I avoid caffeine, but I go heavy on the spice with fresh thai chilis, jalapeños and habaneros pretty much every day. Perhaps my spicy food could have to do with this? That's one thing I'm just not willing to give up though.

I was a very heavy user of weed and hash oil up until 2 months ago, when I went to hit my usual morning bong rips and found myself in the sheer terror of an extreme panic attack from hell, in which I was convinced it was my time to die. I am the all-to-common weed smoking statistic who ended up developing a panic disorder from a decade of heavy weed abuse - you know, that person who really loves weed from morning til night, gets by just fine with some mild non-debilitating anxiety issues, but then all of a sudden one day BAM starts to experience panic symptoms while high, and from that point onward will experience panic attacks sober and ever touching the green stuff again is completely out of the question. If I were to smoke weed now, my heart rate would skyrocket and it would be a whole new world of panic attack in which I would interpret as a serious medical emergency.

A lot of this could be psychosomatic due to the symptoms of sheer terror I have been experiencing for 2 months, and my digestion has been great these past few days.

It is possible that my past Mdma use, or alcohol abuse, has had a minor impact on my digestive system, but I am certain that the extreme effects of my cannabis withdrawal after a decade of insane abuse would exacerbate that. Just to clarify things, if I have any drug induced health complications then it is almost definitely cannabis related as that is what I abused above and beyond everything else combined.

I have faith that my panic disorder will resolve itself in due time, as I avoid herb like the plague these days, and I never had any serious panic or anxiety issues before I got heavy into the hash oil this year. Never even understood what a panic attack was until 2 months ago - I had heard weed could cause them, and there were many warning signs but I thought it could never happen to me. Well, I never would have thought that cannabis could cause complications like this, I have literally been strung the fuck out. I am absolutely certain that if I had never overused weed, then I wouldn't have developed this sheer terror and panic.

So with that being said, cannabis can fuck right off out of my life. I am liberating my mind and cleansing my body of that extremely harmful pest that took over my body and possessed my spirit, stole years of my life away, damaged my mental and physical well being, and even though I have panic freakouts sometimes, I am feeling a hell of a lot more like my good old self. I've got initiative now, motivation, focus, intelligence and drive that I had given up for a stupid weed.

It is un-fucking-believable that despite the fact that I lost 20 pounds due to a week of total appetite suppression and violent pukes, despite the fact that I have been through sheer hell these past couple months experiencing panic attack after panic attack since I quit using, feeling like I was on the verge of death, that even still I find myself attempting to rationalize my use of this drug cannabis, although after 66 days off the stuff I am still having serious health complications. I am possessed by an evil spirit.

I suffered from acid reflux after a heavy period of drug use (not just MDMA but a lot of it).

I never really connected the two and I continue to roll now with now with no stomach problems. I don't really think there's a connection there.

I was convinced I had an ulcer, but all my tests came back normal. I was eventually given a diagnosis of irritable bowel syndrome and after a month of following the recommended diet my symptoms all went away. don't rule out a basic health problem before blaming MDMA.

There are literally heaps of things that cause these kind of stomach irritations. IBS is very common and so is functional dyspepsia. There are no tests for either, but if the diet works for you than you can pretty much conclude that's your problem.

Proton pump inhibitors did nothing for me, I don't recommend them. Iberogast is a herbal remedy for the two conditions I listed above that helped me heaps.
