Ok so iv been doing mdma now for just over 3 years and have seen my teeth getting worse and worse due to teeth grinding/gurning, 1st it was a little crack in my rear molar, then in Feb about 2 days after a roll, i was eating breakfast, i believe it was muesli, then i crunched on a nut and... *Ping* there goes half my tooth... needless to say i was very concerned and thought long and hard about giving up rolling for the sake of my health. i think as a result i am going to severely cut back on rolling to something like once or twice a year either way.

Anyone else encountered any problems similar to this and how do you cope with them?

Find something to chew on. Gum, pacifiers, I use the plastic ends of lollipops as do most of the people in this city haha.

Before I figured that out I used my tongue. Learnt my lesson fast.

hmm see i kinda get the opposite, if iv got gum i tend to chew it till its rock hard then wonder why my jaw hurts so badly in the morning, and pacifiers >.< i swear i almost swallowed my own mouth lol, i find that if i dont have anything to chew however i only get the urge to grind/gurn while coming down and experience very little jaw pain in the mornings.

I never used to chew at all now I find I gnaw the heck outta my cheaks! Latex pacifier for me now. The latex free ones I chew through in a night!

I've been through the same thing dude, one of my lower right molars? (idk i ain't a dentist, the big teeth) got a crack in it after we took more than a stupid amount one night. Had that for a few months and then one day iI bit down and ping, there went half the tooth...followed by some god awful toothache and the costs of having what was left removved...urgh

Moral of the story, those folks with pacifiers may look like fools, but they're actually smart. :P

Magnesium works like a charm. You won't grind and it'll help if the ecstasy stops up your digestive tract.

You need magnesium and possibly some sort of mouth guard. You shouldn't be breaking your teeth after during a night of rolling.

Have you had tooth problems in the past?

I, personally, am prone to teeth grinding even when I'm not rolling so I always try to take extra precautions when I do roll so that I don't do any damage to my teeth. I keep lollipops on hand and sometimes I chew gum even though I hate gum, but if it saves my teeth then its well worth it. :)

A mouth guard or perhaps even a retainer, that still kind of looks like a mouth guard, works wonders. the retained at least works to straighten teeth while im clenching, also gummy fruit that you have to really work to chew will help and it will also give you some sugar, but over a night this could be a lt of gummies, so maybe try to mix and match!

if the pills are clean, the only time i bit and chew is when im tranced out, having a great time
if im just rolling, and am aware of what my teeth are doing, i can feel the urge to grind my teeth, but i know to control it
but say im getting a lightshow, or dancing, ill be so into it my mouth will be clenching like a mofo

might have to give magnesium a try, any1 know what type of store would sell this stuff? like the local supplement health shops? would they sell it?

magnesium (stearate), 250 mg, anytime during the day of, seems to work well.

you can buy pretty much anywhere they sell vitamins.

it doesn't completely stop the jaw action, but it significantly reduces it to where there's very little muscle pain the next day.

Local health food shops, super markets and pharmacies would most likely be carrying magnesium supplements. Its a very common supplement and won't be hard to find at all.

magnesium works but it sucks cause grinding adds an aspect to the roll that I like.

A mouthguard will keep you 100% safe. Plus you can buy ones with lights so it looks like youre spitting fire at a rave!

What I did was go into the orthodontist place and had them make me one of those "invisaline" retainer things.
Fits my teeth perfect, don't know it's there after 10 minutes, is clear so no one else knows it's in, and I can't even detect a scratch on the retainer where I know I clench down and grind on.
But other than that my vote would be for magnesium!

I find chewing gum can make you chew even more, it can be a double edged sword. As has been mentioned many times in this thread a lot of people find magnesium to help massively with grinding/clenching. I find a salt water rinse once you get in and again when you wake up can also help minimise pain and damage.

I also suggest magnesium. Also, do a mouth check every 15 minutes or so during your roll. My friends and I will always make a point to check each other, make sure we're not clenching and massage our jaws (just below your temple you can feel the muscle that will get really tense.) I've found that doing these jaw checks/massages helps A LOT. I've found that you can usually stop yourself from a majority of the clenching/grinding by just being mindful of it.
