MDMA (and similar drugs) effect on the liver/kidneys

Hi all,

I have been taking MDMA and research chemicals with similar effects for the past 6 months or so. A little over a year ago I developed the nasty habit of drinking daily. Usually 4 to 5 shots of hard liquor each night and often more on weekends. I didn't receive any signs of deteriorating health as a result of this until lately I have been having sharp pains in my kidneys, mouth sores and some nail fungus on my toes. I read that all these can be the result of liver damage. So last week I decided to stop drinking nightly. I will still drink but only socially and even then I won't touch the hard stuff.

Now as for the drugs. I do them once a week at most but usually once every week and a half most of the time. I have taken pretty large doses the last couple of times but don't intend to do that again. The RCs I have tried are serotonin or dopamine releasers/reuptake inhibitors. Anyway how much of an impact do these sort of drugs have on the liver/kidneys as compared to alcohol. I am very concerned about my liver/kidney health at the moment.

Would I need to cut these drugs out completely for a while until my body regains some strength?

And how often should these drugs be done at most so as to not cause bodily damage?

Thanks

Hello tk123, welcome to bluelight.

Typically kidney pains are nothing to be comfortable with. Kidney failure leading to myocardial infarction(Heart attack)/Cardiac arrest is a way in which over stressing your body with stimulants can lead to death.

The issue here may be blood pressure. While alcohol is fun, the combinations you're listing really push the limits on your circulatory system and stresses organs (especially the kidneys) to unsafe levels. Alcohol in combination with stimulants raises heart rate 20-30 beats faster than it would have been with only the stimulant. It is also dehydrating you quicker and multiplying damage done.

Abstain from all stimulants and have a doctor perform tests. As for alcohol, if I were in your shoes I would be pursuing a benzo script to quit.

One can use pharmaceutical amphetamines daily for 60 years and never kick the bucket. As for ecstasy it's best to wait 2-3 months for mental effects. As for meth or cocaine, it's best to PM me or do a lot of extensive research. Damage done is dose dependent(Trying to keep this post from becoming a book.)

Good advice, thanks. I haven't touched alcohol for 6 days now and finding it pretty easy. I won't be doing any other drugs either for at least a month and a half or so.

tk, fuck, buddy, buy a bottle of milk thistle at once and _wear_ _it_ _out_ (mthistle is coal miner tested :) ). Fish oil by the 5g for the cardiovascular, and keep drinking that H2O.

You might also consider a plant-based whole food diet for a month or so.

Mental effects are best mitigated with abstinence, however, nootropics, dhea and gingko (placebo for baseline brains, which your pickled noggin certainly isn't ;) ), and as much vitamin c and alpha lipoic acid as you can take. At least that's what I did...

Hey man, another thing great for your liver is wasabi. The best product out there is called Liver Rescue 4+ by healthforce nutritionals.

Also, some blue-green algae would do your kidneys well. The phycocyanin is very good for the liver/kidneys I believe

^^^ Thanks for the info guys. I did fall off the wagon a bit and drank 3 days in a row, 1st was on Saturday with friends socially which is allowed but then again by myself the next 2 days. Luckily the bottle I had laying around from before is finished and I won't be buying any more. I will look into the supplements you guys suggested but not the fish oil as I'm vegetarian :) The 2 supps I am currently taking is a multivitamin and 200mg of 5HTP every morning. The latter has really done wonders for my mood. And I started drinking a lot more water too, I keep a gallon full and try to finish that each day. Milk Thistle seems promising, will get some!
