So I am at work and I always browse the internet for random things and stumbled upon a page saying that peanut oil is used because it boils...don't want to get specific because I know you can't discuss those things.

I am DEATHLY allergic to all nuts, and it never even came to mind thinking about my allergy when ingesting different pills. So deathly that I have been to the emergency room in the last year and a half alone. I have an epi-pen and everything.

I have rolled on many occasions and have never even thrown up from a pill, but when even a nut touches my lips I get sick, can't breathe, get hives everything possible, and can even go into anaphalactic shock (spelling) when your throat closes up.

So my two purposes of this post are

1) does anyone know why I have not had a reaction?!
and
2) if you have an allergy PLEASE carry your epi pen with you when you decide to take pills, you never know how it will affect you and knowing this almost makes me scared to roll again cuz i will be in the back of my head.

I have heard that people who are allergic to penicillin are likely to be CYP2D6 deficient.
At least I found a post on BL from years ago stating this...
Can't corroborate the statement with any evidence.

If you have rolled successfully it is safe to assume that peanut allergies don't influence the enzymes involved in metabolism of MDMA.
But you should know this - people have reported an increase in allergy sensitivity following MDMA.
I read a post of someone breaking out in hives over eating strawberries!

And MDMA does lower immune response.
I wonder if this could lower allergic reaction in some people, rather than raising it.

A few years back there was a trial done for individuals with nut allergies where you get a series of shots with the types of nuts you are allergic to injected into you under controlled circumstances, I almost did the trial but opted out. Their theory was by introducing the body to small amounts of the nuts, they could retrain the stomach and brain not to react as terribly to future contact with nuts. I am not sure the results of the trial, but your views make sense. Maybe the amount of peanut oil in the process is so minute in people it allows the body to become used to it. With a life threatening nut allergy people's organs usually shut down because they view it as a "foreign object" similar as if a normal person with no allergies would ingest poison.

Based on what you're saying, it is likely that there isn't something in the actual MDMA that you would be allergic to. However, considering where the pills have been, I'd still say there is a change of them touching some sort of nut.

Am I to understand that peanut oil is used in making mdma? I think that there are about three routes widely used and several other lesser or potential routes, but I don't recall any mention of peanut oil.

In chemical synthesis an oil bath is a common method by which to heat a round bottomed flask because it allows even heating around the entire reaction flask. Peanut oil is a common oil to use in clandestine synthesis actually because it does not boil at reaction temperatures and can be easily procured. The peanut oil never contacts the actual reaction product which would be why it does not cause a reaction for you.

I'm fairly certain i have not violated any rules related to synthesis discussion but if i have please delete this reply.
