mdma and mri and personality change

I saw a program on chanel 4 uk
It showed ppl taking mdma in a mri
They discovered it turns off part of our brain thay is assosiated with personslity
I think it must be the part that tells us we dont love everyone/everything
And that why it makes some ppl gay
 
I have seen many reports that suggest MDMA could possibley lead to a change in your personality over time.

It seems to do with the changes made to the prefrontal cortex.

I suppose you could argue a loss of memory is a kind of personality change.

Not sure if it would specifically make someone gay but I read this that seems to suggest alterations in serotonin could make someone turn gay so I guess its theoretically possible.

I think the likelyhood of taking a few pills and turning gay is fairly remote but I suppose someone abusing over a certain time period might make some alterations.
 
One area of the brain that is less activated is the Amygdala. This area of the brain is responsible for perceiving dangerous situations, social threat & anxiety. This is one of the main reasons why you feel like you're best friends with a stranger - you perceieve them as far less threatening.

I think it also de-sensitizes the link between the short-term memory & the long-term memory within the Prefrontal Cortex. This is one of the reasons it appears so promising for PTSD because it makes the traumatic memories far more accessible and, combined with the loving/accepting state of elevated serotonin, allows strong therapeutic possibility.

Don't see how it could your change your sexuality though, but I took the word 'gay' within the more young context meaning soppy & wet.

I think possibly the default setting would be to love all
And we as individuals develop a personilty that narrows this down
By gender, personailty (theres) and looks

And with mdma turning parts of thr brain off/down abit
These rules might get turned off

I know str8 ppl who have done gay stuff when high, some day thry must be like that anyway
But maybe its possible on a neurological way

I think you can do all kinds of crazy things when high. I guess depending on exactly how fucked up you get.

The argument for serotonin levels effecting sexual behaviour would stand true for both long and short term.
 
Further more they might be able to fix peados one day
When they really understand neuro transmiters and sexuslity
 
What's this bit about MDMA turning people gay? Rubbish I'd be a flaming homosexual if this had thw slightest bit of substance to it. I don't have any problem with gay people at all - they are human beings but I don't know anyone who ever claimed mdma made them gay...

MDMA can have powerful transformative effects on personality. But personality isn't sexual orientation - not even close.
 
Would be interesting to hear views from people on this matter. I personally feel more emotionally 'blunt' since I started taking MDMA. I could be this way however because I have lived a secluded lifestyle with lack of interaction for quite a while.
 
I have gotten straighter while under the influence of MDMA, meaning I went from having relatively average standards to willing to fuck the fattest swamp donkey in the room. I didn't even care when my buddies caught me attempting to sneak out with her. Alcohol, dry spells, and avoiding being caught have the same effect.

Come to think about it my standards might have lowered over the years also. I wonder if MDMA is at the route cause?

Maybe my inhibitions have lowered and I dont see a fat swamp donkey as such a threat to me anymore.

I find my standards sky rocketed. Mainly cause, I'm different, confident and myself. If the girl isn't stuck up/ has issues, then I can pretty much make the most attractive girls fall in love with me.

But I've also hooked up with bad looking girls the first few times when I was rolling. After my first 3-4 times, it was easy to control myself and not fall for a random nobody ugly girl.

Yeah after reading Dawglaws post this has become the Fat Swamp Donkey Appreciation thread.

Its kind of relevant because were discussing if our standards in women have been lowered by MDMA abuse. LOL
