MDMA and mood stabilizers

Ok so I've been wanting to do MDMA for YEARS. The problem is, I'm on Latuda 30 mg for bipolar disorder. It's a low dose, I still experience some symptoms, but I need to be on something or else I'll end up in the hospital again. My concern is that it will interact with the MDMA. If it does interact, I can just start taking another mood stabilizer. Can you guys please give me some information on how Latuda and MDMA interact, and if there are some mood stabilizers that don't interact with MDMA? Thank you

There is a thread on this in the be empathetic drugs forum. The short answer is Yes, depending on the mood stabilizer or antipsychotic (they use those to stabilize moods in bi-polar patients also), they can definitely dampen a experience.
look up your drugs. If they block dopamine, they will dampen the roll to a certain extent.
Check out the empathic drugs forum.

Yep like speed king said they will damped experience to a certain extent. But nothing serious should occur or disturb you from the experience at all. But also don't just quit your pills for the day or two while you are trying MDMA, might unleash your chemistry and do a very wierd placebo effect or trigger a relapse mania. So go with the pills or quit them weeks before.

OFF TOPIC
First, as bipolar my self try to quit all the chemistry you obtain from doctors, will be hard to fight against, but bipolar is not something you want to stabilize or compress. Its something you need to learn how to mentally trigger control and use. After that you can learn true trial and error how to use MDMA, weed and other stuff in the way that it only helps you, instead of leaping you from 1 mania to another. I have learned that if you understand your own chemistry and have big will power, you can use manias to create magical results, and kill the negative manias with weed and hard imprinted goals. The trick is to always have a hard on goal, so you never forget why you are in mania and what to do next. That said from experiences. Never had a problem with drugs, rather bipolar it self that can paralyze you and miss lead after from your original intentions. But other than that sure try it, after all mood pills and other crap pharmacies offer you is drug as well right? Just don't fall into bad groups of friends with drug habbits or ever forget why you are doing it in first place. P.S. Bipolar on mania + right amount of stimulants can lead to wonderfull and mind blowing creative results. I mixed on vinyl once for 16 hours and reached next level. Just never over do it and value your self! Have fun! :)

OP, my best advice is to weigh the pros and cons about what you want to do. If coming off the Latudia might/will send you to the hospital, this is IMHO not your time to roll.
Get a few rolls and put them away. If you find yourself, and get over what your on the medicine for, then in time, you may be able to roll again. Sorry but those are the facts. I can only give you harm reduction advice.

There is a chance that if you were on a different antipsychotic for your mood, you might be able to do something different.

I might never be able to function without taking mood stabilizers, and even if I ever do, it probably won't be for a very long time. And I'm not worried about it dampening my roll, I'm worried about having an adverse interaction. Do you know about mood stabilizers that don't interact with MDMA?

Hey girl stay away from mdma don't fuck with that shit for real just stay away ok

I, for one, do not know of a particular "mood stabilizer " that adversely reacts with mama. Check out the empathogenic drugs ( something like that forum) for more information. From what I understand, they all react in some way by dampening dopamine mainly.
I say if your stable on Latudia, don't come off it just to roll and risk messing your mood up.

I will not stop until you BAN ForEverAfter.

Ahahahahaha!

It would most definitely weaken your roll quite a bit. I don't think it's dangerous but I wouldn't try it personally. I also wouldn't stop taking your medication for a couple of reasons. First, it sounds like you genuinely need it atm. You should never just stop taking APs or psych drugs cold turkey even for a few weeks. Depending on your individual biochemistry you could experience significant withdrawal. APs also mess with the way that your body regulates heat. When you are in withdrawal, it would be very easy to overheat on something like LSD or MDMA, I know because I almost overheated on LSD one time when I stopped taking my meds and was still in withdrawal.

I have been off of my medication for a while now, since January, and I still struggle with being hot all of the time and my withdrawal has lasted about a year and it's still kicking because I tapered too fast. If you get off of it, you need to do it slowly. Don't ever just stop taking psych drugs, you can do a lot of damage to yourself as I learned the hard way. So be careful with psych drugs and empathogens and psychedelics. Some mood stabilizers and ADs would be dangerous to mix so always do your research.

I might risk mixing Depakote (valproic acid) and MDMA but not Lithium and MDMA. Or do they even prescribe those as mood stabilizers anymore?
