Your overall health is way more important than a drug!

Now.....you are on effexor, which is an SNRI, slightly different than an SSRI. Some people say they are able to roll off even while using an SNRI, but others say they cannot.

I personally would wait until you are off of the antidepressant completely, it seems like you don't have that much time to go, so it's better to just wait. :)

having been an effexor user in the past I can concur that pff is spot on correct.
 
MDMA drains serotonin, SSRI's increase it, SSRI means Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor, basically, stops your neurons from uptaking the serotonin in your brain thereby increasing the amount that is present.

As far as using SSRI's for fun? Don't. SSRI's take weeks of daily ingestion to have any noticable effects. Taking a ton of an SSRI at once won't do anything but give your body a nasty "chemical" feeling, I've done it before (with Zoloft) and I know others that have as well. There is NO recreational value to those drugs.

Because a lot of people are just looking for someone to tell them what they want to hear. Generally they have already made up their mind

no, one of the biggest advantages of the SSRIs (from the point of view of the manufacturers, not the patients) is that they have negligible recreational value. (it's also hard to overdose on them, which is good for a drug you're giving to potentially suicidal patients.)

if this wasn't such a concern for designing antidepressants, you could just give depressed people morphine (or MDMA, for that matter), and it'd work a lot better. but it is, and the end result is that antidepressants are carefully tested so that they have no potential of being used recreationally.
 
SSRI, MDMA, 5-htp.

Obviously the SSRI and MDMA combination has been done to death before, but has anyone tried stopping their SSRI, and used 5-htp for 3 weeks leading up to an event, and the week or so (even just the next day?) after then event. Then, start using the SSRI's again? Please inform me of possible outcomes and potential issues that may arise from this. Much thanks! :)
 
Ecstasy on Certain Medications.

Curious, I have become after a while of yearning for E, a friend says he has stashes of it all the time now. However, the one contention is that I am taking Paxil 20 MG, Neurontin 100 MG, Topamax, 25 MG.....daily. Neurontin I take twice a day, as I do Topamax. I have been wanting to experience "rolling" ever since I shroomed, and tripped on acid really hard.

Will these rolls work?

Please can I have any advice.
 
It's not advisiable that you take any mdma.

First off the Paxil is going to give you diminished effects from the mdma and you probably won't roll at all.

I'm not sure about the two other meds that you are on, it will require a bit more research.

Please don't stop taking your medications in order to roll, you are on them for a reason and if you stop your regimen you are never going to be able to obtain any beneficial effects.

No, I am going to stop taking the shit Paxil for a week at least. I have been taking it for a little over five years. I will stop my medications to have a life changing experience. I do not need Paxil anyway, I really only need, my Beta-Blocker (to knock out the anxiety).

I had a friend with OCD and he can't roll, the one time he did it made his OCD a lot worse. I think you would have to stop paxil for like a month for it to completely be out of your system, make sure you talk to your doctor before taking yourself off of meds.
 
Is not there any way in which I can simply and only flush it out of my brains' anatomy? I do not want to wait a month, and it feels like a long time to wait, but I feel, if I must....then I shall indeed. Without discussing with my psychiatrist of course, whom would undoubtedly report this to one of my parents at a later date. If I get a pill in my possession it would be great to use, but so long to wait, and results could be horrid. Although in reality I really do not and should not need to be on Paxil, but the Emotional withdrawal from it is very intense, and takes a large physical toll if not tapered off of.
 
I think it would be a bad idea to take pills while on your medications, and I would advise you to think really hard about taking them at all. Anticonvulsant levels can be increased to dangerous levels by taking other drugs/medications with them. I'm not sure if ecstasy would do this, but I'm sure this has been discussed on BL in the not too distant past. Ecstasy can make any mental health problems worse all by itself, and then there's the chance of relapse from being off your meds... You might have an incredible time for a few hours...could be very risky for you though.

If you are going to stop your meds, I would strongly advise you to do it with your doctor's help, even if you don't tell them why. Also, if you tell your doctor something in confidence it would be unethical of them to tell your parents, although your age and nationality may be important here. How old are you? Please be careful!
