Bluelighter
Ok, so I got my new xtreme test in the mail today, and after seeing that I had a complete/correct kit this time, I happily sat down to play with it.
First I tested a known MDMA-only sample. It instantly all turned a very satifying royal blue colour.
Then I tested a known MDMA/MDEA mix. This reaction was slower. It started off with a light lavender colour, which gradually spread, and after about 30 seconds, speckles of the dark blue colour I'd seen in the pure MDMA reaction started to appear.
The two reactions were clearly very different in character. After a couple of minutes it was plain to see the light purple wasn't going to be turning dark blue all over any time soon. According to the instructions the same dark blue should appear for both chemicals. It wasn't just a light blue, it was definitely much redder than that.
Is it possible that the difference in colour of reaction had to do with the presence of MDEA, thus being a way to recognize it if you have it? Or is it more likely that the difference in reaction was because of other factors, such as the identity of binders/fillers or the quantitative amounts of active chemicals present in the pill? (These were both pill scrapings, neither was a loose powder. Although one pill was a harder press than the other, I made sure the scrapings being tested were crushed quite fine.)
If people would like I can try to get pictures of the reactions so you can see the difference in colour I'm talking about.
