Mdai

See the mega thread to be honest there is good reading there, it's an rc long term effects are not known.

My own thoughts are that the duration is dependant on many factors some people get a long buzz and others short.

On it's own it's really laxed out , in combination it can be pretty intense . I'm not going to list combos read the mega thread .

Mdai is fantastic in our books , legality wise it's questionable because although it bares no structural similarity. There is some similarity to MDMA. in nz you would have to argue whether it was substantially similar to anillegal drug . Not sure what the equivalent of the misuse of drugs act. Is but if one were to need an answer surely it would be there ;)

Some extension on this P_D would be brilliant.

I haven't much time today so just quickly, have look at MDMA and MDBD, the former having considerable dopaminergic activity and the latter, very little. While the lengthened alkyl chain of MDBD likely affects 5HT reuptake binding to some degree, the loss of the MDMA magic with MDBD is more attributed to the lack of DAT activity. Taking meth with MDBD seems to improve the MDMA like empathy element. Years ago there was quite a lot of MDBD on the SEQ coast for 6 months or so. While a few people claimed it was virtually indistinguishable from MDMA, most agreed it lacked the sparkle.

If you do indeed get the time, could you apply this more to MDAI specifically?

I definately get the point your trying to make though, however a straight out dump of seretonin into my brain does sound appealing none the less. Neotoxicity of this compound is said to be nil or negligable from memory.

I wasnt exactly trying to say that it would act as a substitute for MDMA, but definately an alternative for someone who like me doesnt want any stimulation full stop. A bit of love would be nice, doesnt have to be earth shattering =)

Under Australian analogue laws it is illegal.
Its a structural isomer of MDA, the alpha-methyl of MDA is just bonded to the 2-position on the benzene ring.

Just out of curiosity (PD this one you will be able to answer) how far removed from the original substance (as far as chemical structure goes) does another substance have to be before it is not deemed an analogue or substantially similar? (bare in mind I am not much chop with the chemistry side of things)

this straight from wiki

The chemical structure of MDAI is indirectly derived from that of the illicit drug MDA, but the alpha-methyl group of the alkylamino amphetamine side chain has been bound back to the benzene nucleus to form an indane ring system, which changes its pharmacological properties substantially.

so to my way of thinking I don't believe it could be considered an analogue of MDA at all ??

can someone please explain?

From The criminal code
A substance is a controlled drug if the substance (the drug
analogue) is, in relation to a controlled drug listed in
subsection (1) (or a stereoisomer, a structural isomer (with the
same constituent groups) or an alkaloid of such a controlled drug):
(a) a stereoisomer; or
(b) a structural isomer having the same constituent groups; or
(c) an alkaloid; or
(d) a structural modification obtained by the addition of one or
more of the following groups:
(i) alkoxy, cyclic diether, acyl, acyloxy, mono-amino or
dialkylamino groups with up to 6 carbon atoms in any
alkyl residue;
(ii) alkyl, alkenyl or alkynyl groups with up to 6 carbon
atoms in the group, where the group is attached to
oxygen (for example, an ester or an ether group),
nitrogen, sulphur or carbon;
(iii) halogen, hydroxy, nitro or amino groups; or
(e) a structural modification obtained in one or more of the
following ways:
(i) by the replacement of up to 2 carbocyclic or
heterocyclic ring structures with different carbocyclic or
heterocyclic ring structures;
(ii) by the addition of hydrogen atoms to one or more
unsaturated bonds;
(iii) by the replacement of one or more of the groups
specified in paragraph (d) with another such group or
groups;
(iv) by the conversion of a carboxyl or an ester group into an
amide group; or
(f) otherwise a homologue, analogue, chemical derivative or
substance substantially similar in chemical structure;
This applies only to controlled substances specified in the criminal code, not all S9 drugs.

It doesnt matter whether you could actually derive MDAI from MDA, ie react MDA to get MDAI. Its about structurally derived.

MDAI isnt actually a structural isomer with the same constituent groups but it is most definetly "structurally derived" and "substantially similar"
