MDA with a calming effect?

I recently ingested what I believed to be very pure MDA. I would say somewhere around 0.5g+. Is it common for 3,4-Methylenedioxyamphetamine to have a calming effect at a high dose? It tasted a bit like soap and perfume, the effects were very euphoric and stimulating for the first 2 hours or so, followed by intense calm and relaxation, to the point where I didn't want to move and I fell a sleep within 5 hours of ingestion.

Not wondering if what I took was what I thought it was, but instead wondering if anyone else has experienced this with a high dose of pure MDA.

This sounds like super pure MDMA to me. But I could be wrong.
IIRC, the effects of MDA and MDMA are basically the same save for the fact that MDA is far more psychedelic. But .5 is a pretty decent sized dose so I find it a little odd that you fell asleep.

That had crossed my mind, that it could have been pure MDMA, but the person I got it from has access to MDMA, and pressed pills as well. I doubt he would lie, especially since he just gave the chemicals to me free of charge. It was off white powder with brown specks, very soft and easy to break up. It hurt like a bitch (when snorted), which is very MDA like.

That shit burns like a mofo too.
The fact that you put it up your nose could be why you fell asleep. When you administer MDxx nasally, the high is much shorter than if you were to administer orally.

My main ROA was oral. I ate almost all of it, and snooted up the plate residue. MDMA definitely hurts, but I think MDA is far more unpleasant for longer after you administer it nasally.

Anyways, I can say with almost 100 percent certainty that what I ingested was MDA, just wondering if anyone else has experienced this, or if its just me. I've done this same 3,4-Methylenedioxyamphetamine about 4 times, at varying doses, but the higher the dose the more calming and nice it seemed to be.

Well ime the more pure the MDxx the more likely you are to have a more relaxing, hangout and chill kind of experience.

for me , MDA is always a lot more visual, and quite a bit speedier than MDMA.

MDA gets very stimulating at higher doses. 500 mg would have me up for probably 20 hours. MDMA does not do this to me. In my opinion they are subjectively very different drugs. They both act as serotonin releasers (to a differing degree; MDMA moreso) which makes them feels closer than they really are. The differences become highlighted as the dose is increases. Your experience sounds not like MDA to me.

in PIHKAL shulgin states MDA has a stoning effect; and as amanitadine said above, as dosage increases (same with MDMA) the effects can become more stoning

where were the intense halucinations???

on that timeline of effects and dosage i'm thinking mdea (which has a short peak and fades rapidly to a very stoning monged out vibe then quick sleep). i've had quite a lot of mdea before and your experience reminds me it and how it was good but not a patch on real mdma/mda

you could sleep shortly after mdea and the peak has that exact pattern, but sleeping after half a gram of mda- c'mon i find that VERY hard to believe, as would anyone who had taken a large dose of mda before

I couldn't imagine falling asleep w/ in less than 10 hours of taking 500 mg of MDA. That's a pretty large amount.

sounds like MDEA rather than MDA to me?

there is no way in hell id be able to sleep for many many hours after taking even under 250mg MDA.

were there any visuals involved?

ive been able to fall asleep DURING an MDE experience.

both MDE + MDA appear to be making a comeback
