Does MDA test the same as MDMA? Cause I have pills that tested black but someone old me that they contain MDA not MDMA in them.

Do both test purple/black on a Mecke test?

What other tests are out there to distinguish between the two??

(I tried to do a search a came up with nothing)

You can test it with Simon's reagent.
If it's MDMA or MDE (very rare) the color will change to blue.

If it's MDA the color will change to pink.

Simon's Reagent changes color in the prescence of a secondary amine (n-methyl, n-ethyl, etc); if there is none present, as with MDA, there will be no color change.

This is an easy one.

If it tests purple->black on marquis AND blue on simon's reagent, then MDMA you most likely have.

If it tests purple->black on marquis AND NOT blue on Simons then MDA you most likely have.

In that case it could also be mbdb. Only robadope will give a positive reading for mda, or any other primary amine. IMO just testing with simon's does not lead to this conclusion. Mecke and all the other single step tests will not discriminate between mda and mdma
