MDA & MDMA

So here's my question, in the Ecstacy Discussion board there's a post on which do you like best MDA or MDMA or mixed?
If when testing w/ the Supreme test you get the salmon or red hues which indicates a primary amine - I thought that's when you do NOT want to take the pill as it could indicate PMA. PMA & MDA test the same, don't they? And PMA is potentially a dangerous substance to ingest - right? Why then would you take a pill that indicates a possibility of containing PMA?

By themselves PMA and MDA do NOT test the same with all the reagents.
With Marquis reagent the PMA sample will not react whilst the MDA sample will turn purple->black.
With the Robadope reagent (the test for primary amines) both will react to a salmon-red colour.
The problem exists when there are more than one substance combined. It is impossible (at least with the current well known reagents) to differenciate the substances with:
PMA/MDA mixed
PMA/MDMA mixed
MDA/MDMA mixed
all 3 will react purple->black to Marquis reagent
all 3 will go salmon-red with Robadope
You can test for PMA by itself with Mandelin reagent but if there is any MDxx it will overide the reaction.
You ask why you would want to take a pill that could possibly contain PMA... I suppose you would be playing the numbers game here. There is more chance of getting an MDA/MDMA mix than getting a PMA/MDMA mix.
However, if you are getting a Robadope reaction then you KNOW there is something else other than MDMA in the sample and you now have a very real chance of getting PMA. Whereas if you don't get a reaction then that chance doesn't exist.

This combination will not change color with Simons. Note that this combination killed a guy in The Netherlands not so long ago;

Those will go blue with Simons.
So, there is no way to distinguish between PMA and MDA if there is also MDMA in the same pill.
We know it would be nice if there was something that could do this but we also think that an Ecstasypill should contain MDMA only.
If Robadope goes salmon/red, at least you know there is something that is NOT mdma.

Fuck that... That shit has already claimed about 3 people I know, one last year was a close friend. There is no place for PMA in a recreational scene. My views on PMA are completely inflexible. I dont care how much people tell me they can "handle their pills" (quoting my friend), its just not something that should be toyed with, as too many variables are involved with this toxin.
