I'll say this and stand by it.

Chuck Berry is to Rock and Roll what Run DMC/Sugar Hill Gang is to hip hop.

The Beatles are to Rock and Roll what JayZ/Biggie/Nas are to hip hop.

Depending on your stance, and if you're talking about the genre as a whole, or simply the saturating of it into pop culture.. any of those names could be definied as originators.

However, it's too bad I was just naming off hip hop artists I like with my original post, and not implying that they were originators at all. Your smartass comments inspired me to argue the point.

I also have friends that promote for Ultraworld and Buzzlife (who are also helping in throwing Starscape this year) and if they just so happen to let anything slip off the record..... muahahhaha ;)
